Christopher Columbus added St. Barthelemy, or St. Barts to his collection in 1493, but the French soon stepped in. Today, the chic Caribbean island - officially a department of France - is a popular winter getaway for people from mainland France, the rest of Europe and North America. Keep in shape and walk between attractions or get a rental car to see more of the island. Beachgoers can choose between strands such as Grand Saline, if nude sunbathing appeals, or shady, isolated Colombier Beach.

The Funseaker boat is available for private (half day and full day charters) and tour group charters. It is a 51ft PowerCat well equipped with 3 cabins, outdoor and indoor dining space, plenty of shaded and cushioned seating space, fly bridge, watersports on board, a comfortable dinghy and an exceptional staff! Hop on board you will not be disappointed.

Relax on this shady, isolated beach - after that 30 minute walk to get there from the main road, you'll need it.
Getting to Colombier on foot involves a scenic and relatively short hike down a hillside, part of which has "stairs". Perhaps because it is not readily accessible, the beautiful sandy beach was relatively uncrowded. The bay is protected on either side, so even on a somewhat windy day the sea was calm enough for swimming.

We are a french concept store, for both men and women. Featuring new designers mostly from france. From Swim wear, lounge wear, to watches and jewellry and perfumes! Pasha is also the creator and the only place to buy the famous SBH Baseball cap.
PaSha is the best boutique on St. Barts (and on-line.) We always find the most unique and exceptional gifts. David and Olivier are wonderful as well and always help us select fun and fabulous gifts. The custom made items are always worth a visit. Located in Gustavia, the boutique is easy to find. We love the clothing too! They always have fun and new items with exceptional quality. Whenever visiting St. Barts or even on-line, PaSha has items we can't find anywhere else! We had special gifts selected for my husband's birthday and everyone loved them!

This beach is littered with shells for that perfect vacation memento.
Love this beach. You can bring your own food and drinks for picnic or rent beds from Shellona and get full service! Lots of families and locals come here to swim and chill out. Popular with locals and tourists alike. Sunset was great, not quite the egg yolk that I wanted to see, but still worth waiting for.

The island's most popular beach, best known for its white sand beaches and calm waters perfect for swimming and sailing.
The September,2017 hurricane brought much destruction to the island which everyone was sad to see. One thing that was destroyed that everyone is glad to see is the fence that cut the beach in half. It was put up after a tourist was killed taking a selfie at the end of the airport runway while a plane was landing. There’s now an area at the end of the runway which is cordoned off by rope and you can easily walk around it along the water’s edge. It’s about a half mile from Les Ilets (a great place to stay) to Eden rock - great for a nice morning walk - or a walk anytime! FYI, The part of Eden Roc hotel that was on the rock itself is still under construction as is most of that part of the beach.

You won't find crowds at this beautiful beach, but you won't find shade either, so bring an umbrella.
Gouverneur is a wild and natural beach on the southern coast, a scant 10 minute drive from Gustavia (assuming you don’t miss the turnoff like we did). The road to the beach is steep and winding (and scenic so drive carefully). Parking is convenient. There are no facilities; the beach is sans hotels, restaurants, bars, bathrooms, and possibly bathing suits. Just sand and surf, the way mother nature intended. Gouverneur is a beauty of a beach!
