We were staying nearby, and after reading all the wonderful reviews, decided to check out Melrose Vineyards. We are so glad that we did! The tasting room and grounds are beautiful, with several parking options available for a future visit with our 40ft 5th wheel (Melrose is a Harvest Host member). The wines available for tasting were extensive, but we chose to stick with reds and were not disappointed. We loved them all, so hard to choose a favorite. Highly recommend the dolcetto and the baco noir. Carrie, the wine maker’s wife and our lovely server, was quite knowledgeable and fun to hang out with. We can’t wait to come back with our rig for a longer visit.????

Visitors are invited to experience one of Oregon's oldest wine estates. Founders Philippe & Bonnie Girardet established this European-style estate on slopes outside of Roseburg, in 1971. Second generation Winemaker, Marc Girardet, was taught by his father, Philippe, and is carrying on the passion for handcrafting extraordinary wines with a touch of the Old World.
I visited this winery many years ago and have remembered it since. Recently I wanted to know the name of a dessert wine they used to offer, learned that they no longer bottle dessert wines and they let me know of similar wines they do have. This process was handled with great understanding rather than 'oh here is someone who can't remember and is a pest'. I was delighted to interact with these folks years ago, and that same joy is what I experienced now. Their wine tastings are an experience all their own! Wonderful wines, great people, and a lot of class!

Abacela is a world-class, multi-award winning winery and viticulture success story. Founders Earl and Hilda Jones first planted in 1995 they had no way of knowing what the outcome would be. Abacela was an experiment they hoped would answer a question that had puzzled them for years: Why doesn't America produce any fine varietal Tempranillo wine? Earl and Hilda probably weren't the first enophiles to wonder why the great grape of Spain's famous Rioja wines was mysteriously absent from American fine wine. However they were the first to approach the question with scientific rigor, form a hypothesis and then devote their lives to testing it. Abacela is the result of one ordinary family's curiosity and determination that transformed their lives, built one of Oregon's best-loved wineries and influenced winegrowing not only in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, but across America. Visit our Vine & Wine Center and taste our delicious wines! No outside food or drink is allowed, thank you.
While we have been to southern Oregon for wine tasting before, we had overlooked this winery that has become renowned for its wine produced from Spanish varietals - Albarino, Grenache, and Tempranillo. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting, the ambiance, the snack we ordered, and the excellent welcome.

This is a hidden treasure. I lived and worked in Sonoma County, CA and have to disagree with contributor sp4301. As you drive up a wood surrounded hill and crest over the top of the ridge you get a beautiful view of the vineyard. Driving down the hill you come upon some farm animals, see a beautiful small lake with an adjacent guest cottage and owners home to an ample parking lot (there is a small handicap parking area up nest to the winery). From the parking lot you follow a whimsical path to the wine terrace and the tasting room which is a cave in the hillside and newly remodelled. I have to disclose that I am a wine club member since 2014. They do produce some of the best wines in the Umqua Valley and have the trophy awards to prove it! The owners and staff take pride in "knowing" their clientele by first names even if you are not there that often. The private area is reserved for members but are also seating others if not in use and is considered a special area. I have always enjoyed my experience there taking out of the area guests and so far have only gotten praises for this winery from them. We do visit other wineries when we have guests but this one always gets the #1 choice to revisit. We have always been greeted and cared for in the utmost wonderful way. Called to see if we could bring our granddaughter with our group (16 yrs old) and they made a special non-alcoholic drink for her. We have attended concerts and dinners there as well. The owners are spectacular hosts and mingle with all the guests as well enjoy themselves as well!

Beautiful garden divided into several focuses. Plants are labeled and information is available on the various plants and gardening techniques. We take our dogs and have a pleasant little walk.

This hike was amazing, very accessible hike. You start off from the parking lot and have to cross the highway to access the actual hike. The hike its self was spectacular! If you are adventures and like to get to the bottom of the hike, you have that ability to get down the fall!

This has been a popular spot in Roseburg for many years. It’s located next to the YMCA off Harvard Avenue. There’s a pavilion for events, halfshell dome over a stage for music in the park, great updated playground with slides, forts, swings, etc and it’s right on the river if you want to take a stroll with a river view. They have public restrooms and a short drive from the playground is a nice disk-golf course. My daughter and I sat and played in the shaded grass and had a picnic lunch while my wild toddler ran out some energy with other kids on the playground.

Great wines, super polite and friendly staff (including the owner), beautiful views, reasonable prices, not pretentious, comfortable tasting room, great views... Cooper Ridge has it all and I as BY FAR the best of our weekend tastings. We all loved it so much that nearly everyone in our large group became members! Looking forward to coming back in the summer for more tastings, live music and estate events!
