This historic Elizabethan house (circa 1587) features a serpentine park that was designed by Lancelot Brown and a gothic greenhouse and stables.
An amazing house with wonderful interiors and very fine art. I think we saw 32 rooms and every one contained items of beauty and great interest. Right from the start we received a warm welcome (worth mentioning Jack who was so friendly and helpful). So much to see. Spent over 3 hours here taking it all in. I recommend this place and also recommend you allow enough time to take a leisurely look at everything. This is not a place to be rushed.

Visited last week for a meal and 80’s Xmas show. The price for both was very reasonable and cannot complain about the food! All three courses very tasty with excellent friendly service. The show was fantastic, everyone up on their feet for the whole show! I have done the same meal and show in the past and really hope they are back next year!

We called at The library as part of our exploration of the town and were greeted by an extremely helpful lady who gave us a street plan and Suggested a tour of the heritage display. She pointed out all the areas of interest and gave us some background on the things on offer leaving us to read and explore further on our own and to try all the interactive parts in the display. The millennium tapestry was amazing particularly to anyone who enjoys craft/needle craft and can appreciate the amount of time and effort that has been put into the piece.

The Yard is an indoor play centre and cafe dreamed up by two local mums who craved a place that appealed to adults and children alike. Children have the freedom to explore the large play structure safely in their own environment, under 2's have a designated space to explore and grown ups can enjoy fresh coffee, grilled cheese sandwiches and sweet treats sourced from local suppliers
We visited the yard with friends to have fun on a rainy day. It was a bit tricky to find and car park is not really good. Only 4 spaces then it has to be street parking. The soft play area is very spacious, the tables laid out all around it makes it easier to spot your children. My friends and I enjoyed a cheese toastie (lots of different ones on the menu). The children enjoyed a lunch box served in a little shopping basket which is super cute! The cake selection is amazing and they taste good. The staff was ever so friendly. We stayed for about 3 hours and it was a fabulous find! We'll come again!

One of five medieval parish churches in the centre of Britain's first conservation area, All Saints' Church is living history, still in daily use for the worship of God in Christ and for celebrating the life-events of Stamford people. The building is normally open for visitors for sight-seeing, prayer or just quiet reflection between about 08:00 and 17:15 on weekdays, 09:00 and 17:15 on Saturdays, 07:30 and 19:00 on Sundays, but please be aware that changes are sometimes necessary and that services and other events can preclude casual visiting from time to time - a calendar is available on our website. Please to do not post mail to the address of the church: there is no letterbox!
I've read the stories and heard the Celtic folktales of graverobbers, ghosts in search of their graves and the Cóiste Bodhar, or Death Coach. Prominent in the Center of the town's square, her gothic steeple towering in the distance, the vivid reality of these tales sprung to life. Church courtyards, well they are real! Ancient, nameless gravestones, some with crowns etched into the templets of stone, line the stone walls surrounding the church. The evening sun sparked the characters on the stain glass windows. Where centuries collided into a single moment.
