The oldest miner of Loja, it is set deep at the right historic Center of the city, it is a pub with a greatest tradition in town. Opened to the public since 1988. Cozy atmosphere and good music. Classic rock only and nothing else, good drinks and the best brewed beer.

Usually in South America the massages can we a bit weak. I have to say however that... the therapist at the spa at Izhcayluma was strong, deep and thorough. A really good massage in a quiet tranquil setting away from the main reception and pool area so you get a peaceful quiet massage. After the treatment the therapist left me so I could have easily stayed lying there for as long as I needed to. Not rushed at all.

Located on the UTPL campus, just inside the main gate. Large front lobby hosts temporary exhibits - we saw a fascinating art exhibit when we visited. The rest of the space is devoted to the history of Loja and surrounds, with some more general info about Ecuador, too. Petroglyphs, early examples of pottery (domestic and religious), and jewelry are on display, along with good signage (in Spanish) to understand what is being viewed. Well worth taking a taxi to go and see. Bonus attraction: after seeing the museum, walk around and explore the university campus for all the great murals on the exterior of the buildings.
