I am a great admirer of this amazing wine shop. As we cannot go to France right now I ordered wines for delivery to the U.K. If you spend 10 euros a bottle the delivery is free. The wine left Limoux on Tuesday and was delivered to London on Thursday. No supplier in the UK can match this! What’s more the wines are fabulous!

Musee Petiet

Its collections are largely made up state owned works from the Musée d'Orsay and Musée national d'art moderne - Centre Georges Pompidou - and the Musée du Louvre. This lovely little gallery was a wonderful surprise. It holds a number of paintings of the French painter Marie Petiet together with some remarkable examples of a variety of 19th century French artists. Petiet (who exhibited under her married name as Marie Dujardin-Beaumetz) was a revelation to me. I would absolutely recommend a visit. In August 2020 we were only charged 3 euros each. There are only a few rooms but some of them are jam packed with paintings (and a few sculptures). I suggest you would need an hour for a visit but the pieces justify a longer visit. They have a couple of tiny desks with coloured felt tips for children.
