My husband and I came for a couples massage. The place is very clean and welcoming. We enjoyed the hot pool prior to our massage appointment, very relaxing. The massage part of our session was excellent, we both received lovely treatment from the staff. I would highly recommend this spa for individual or couples treatment.

We came in to try the cocktails on a rainy Saturday evening between Christmas and New Years and stumbled into a wonderful local experience. As soon as we sat down (at the bar, always sit at the bar), we were offered a complimentary tasting of the three bottles they have developed so far - a wheat-based vodka sourced from nearby Creston, BC, an "Earl Grey tea-infused" liqueur called Fernie Fog, and an America-style gin that just launched in early December. My sister, who is not a gin drinker, happily reported that the gin did not "taste like eating a Christmas tree". However, the real highlight of the tasting room is the cocktails menu. I had to take a solid 15 minutes just to read through the whole selection, and another 5 to narrow down a choice. I ended up with a Definitely, Maybe, which I would recommend to those who enjoy an Old Fashioned. They do a number of different vodka infusions, create in-house bitters (which will hopefully be on sale soon) and all the drinks are garnished with dried fruit. If you are feeling adventurous, try ordering Two Fires and a Flood. It is a treat for the whole room. As it is a tasting room, you can bring in (or order in) your own food. They have a few snacks available (dried fruit and nuts, not bar food), but given that each drink is 2-3 oz, you will probably want to have eaten first. I believe the space is open to children as well, and they have a good selection of mocktails. The distilling room is visible through a window, but no in-depth tours as of yet. We will definitely be stopping in next time we are in Fernie, and I am looking forward to seeing how they grow over the coming year.

Opened to the public in 2013, the Fernie Museum is located in the heart of historic downtown Fernie. The museum offers two floors of exhibits, a gift shop, archives and visitor information services. The main floor permanent exhibit highlights the story of the Fernie region, from the use of the area by the Ktunaxa to underground and open pit mining to the development of Fernie as a four-season resort community. The second floor gallery features rotating art and history exhibits. The Museum also offers a range of programs throughout the year, including popular themed walking tours during the summer. Museum staff are on hand to help guide your paths as your explore our museum, community and the environment around us – whether it is on the ski hill or on our many hiking or biking trails. Public washrooms are available and the facility offers barrier free access.
It is always fascinating to learn about the history of a small town. Loved all the old photographs and the history of coal mining in the town.

Local breweries are always a favourite, including Fernie. Great taproom with great beer! Was super busy when we arrived but were served rapidly while we waited for a seat to open up.
