This is one of more than 400 cemeteries set up around 1915, during WWI, shortly after Gorlice-Tarnow Operation (biggest on eastern front). Austrian Ministry of War set up special commision, with top architects, to design a network of cemeteries. This cemeteries were located in notable places, mainly on hills in centre of villages. Buried there were soldiers from both sides of the conflict.
