Nestled in the towering San Juans, Telluride offers visitors abundant trout fishing and hiking opportunities in summer, plus downhill and cross country skiing in winter. One of the world's most beautiful ski resorts, this former gold rush town has been popular with skiers since the '70s. Walk, catch free shuttles or soar to 9500 feet on the Mountain Village gondola. Appreciate the area's history and beauty at Telluride Historical Museum and Bridal Veil Falls, Colorado's longest free falling falls.

We took a tour with Telluride Outfitters. Roger was our driver. He was great. Black Bear is a one way pass, so we started out and went over Ophir pass and then the highway to Black Bear. The views are amazing. This is an off-road jeep ride that is rated as advanced. Once you reach the pass, you take a nice picture with the sign, if all the jeepers who are lined up with their jeeps to have their pictures taken let you cut in line - otherwise you may be there a while. The downward trip back into Telluride is very steep crossing small waterfalls etc.. Great view of Bridal Veil Falls - which you go right past. This an Imogen Pass are the 2 must do jeep rides in Telluride or Ouray.

Many shops and eateries made this a great place to enjoy drinks, food and shopping for souveniers. People in the shops were very friendly.

In 1896, presidential candidate William Jennings Bryan condemned the gold standard, famously forecasting that it would “crucify mankind upon a cross of gold.” He delivered that speech at the New Sheridan Hotel.
The New Sheridan in down town Telluride is wonderful. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, the staff is helpful and kind, the bar and lobby area very inviting. I travel to ski towns all over the world and the New Sheridan Hotel is one of my favorite. The historic victorian building is clean and fresh with an old western feel. Close to the lifts, bars, restaurants and shops, The New Sheridan is conveniently located. Breakfasts in the hotel are fantastic, The Chop House connected to the hotel is convenient yummy and the bar, a locals favorite for apré ski. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else when in Telluride.

We rented cross country gear from the town park and did some nordic skiing along the river- it was a lot of fun and a beautiful setting. They also offer ice skating.

The pastor is on fire ...not condemning, not judgmental ...but loving, passionate, inviting. Pastor Michael is the real deal! I live this church and always can hardly wait to attend the service when we are in town. My wife and I actually have adopted this as our church and watch the sermons on you tube when we are home.
