Restaurants in Sremski Karlovci

It's a beautiful town, beautiful sights, lovely restaurants, great food, lovely places for drinks, big big walks, etc. Everyone will enjoy! I would say that going on a big walk is not kids-friendly (toddlers and smaller children), there is traffic and not manybpedestrian roads.

Among architecturally and aestetically interesting and beautiful buildings of Sremski Karlovci, the Patriarchy Court is considered to be the most beautiful. It was built in the end of 19th century and was the religious and political center of the life of Serb Orthodox community in the Austria-Hungary. The palace itself is a monument of exceptional importance both for Serbia, as well as its region Vojvodina. Today it has more or less the same administrative/religious function, but is considered to be a museum per se. If you're in Sremski Karlovci, make sure not to miss this place!

It is impossible not to notice this beautiful building. Take a moment to look at the detail on the outside. I went inside and was greeted at the door by two teens sitting at a desk. Unfortunately, you can not tour the building, as it is an active school, without a pre-arranged guide. These teens were nice enough to let me take a few photos. Nicely, simply maintained grounds around the outside in the front.

Built in 1799, this Baroque fountain marked the completion of the first town waterworks.
The historic fountain enhances the centre of this delightful village which has several important buildings near in the pedestrian zone. It is in excellent condition since restoration work has been done this century.

The Lower Church is dedicated to the Apostles Peter and Paul. It was mentioned for the first time in one manuscript dating from 1599, and the temple was restored on its old foundations in 1719. In front of altar of the Lower Church Petar Petrović Njegoš, later St Peter of Cetinje, was consecrated on the 13th October 1784. The iconostasis of the Lower Church was done in 1829, and it is the work of iconographer Dimitrije Bratolić. In the yard of church soon afterwards a Platan tree was planted ( today is huge nice tree ), the one which is today under the protection of state and represents a magnificent natural monument of Sremski Karlovci. The rich history of Karlovci can be encountered at every step, and so we can enjoy the beautiful atmosphere in each street, each square, each church, each building. Nearby is a good café bar with a beautiful terrace with a beautiful view of the church. An amazing experience. Worth to visit.
