Chaya Someshwaralayam is one of the famous temple in Nalgonda District and is famous for its mystery of Chaya. This temple is located in Panagal Village which is 4 km away from the Nalgonda town and @110 kms from Hyderabad. This was constructed in 11th Century by Ikshavaku Family and was partially destroyed by Rajakar's still temple is good in shape This temple is called as Thrikutalayam as there are 3 shrines in single temple complex and those are dedicated to Shiva, Vishnu and Surya. Surya Shrine is on the east House, one in north house is of Vishnu Shrine and one opposite to surya shrine is Sri Someshwara Swamy Shrine which is mail shrine in this temple. The major attraction of this temple is its mysterious shadow on which the temple has been named too. Till now it is mystery that how this shadow is falling on main shrine lingam. When I checked with Poojari he told that even if there are clouds still we can see the shadow. It is called as mystery because there in no pillar in front of the shrine it is appearing because of the beaty of Architecture. There are 18 Pillars in Thrikutalayam complex and this was constructed such a way that all those 18 pillars shadow is appearing as single pillow and same is coming on Main shrine. This temple is located in close proximity of Chaya Someshwaralayam which is one of the famous pilgrimages in Nalgonda District. This temple is located in Panagal Village which is 4 km away from the Nalgonda town and @110 kms from Hyderabad. This was constructed in 11th Century by Prataparudra-I. There are 3 famous temples in Panagal town. those are Chaya Someswar Alayam which is 1km away from this temple, Second is Lord Venkateswara Temple which is 100 meters away from this temple and Third is Pachala Someshwara Alayam, which is unique in its architecture and Beauty The idol of the deity here is curved out of Green onyx, based on this only this temple name is called as Pachala Someswar Temple. Pachala means Green in Telugu. This temple is very old temple and most beautiful in its architecture. Temple has 70 pillars and all of them curved with intricate depicting stories of Mahabharata and Ramayana. Don't forget to see all those mesmerized curved pillars during your visit. Special attraction of this temple are Devi Idol which is very shine and powerful, then Nandi Idol in center of the Mandapam. Panagal Archeological Museum is also located within this temple premises which is most informative with Nominal Entry ticket of 10 Rs/Person, where you can find the details of Nalgonda District and for History lovers this is most admired place. I checked with staff and came to know that this was established in February 1982 in 3 Acres of Land. Daily it will be open from 09:00 am to 05:00 pm except Friday as Friday is Holiday.
