The near otherworldly Himalayan kingdom of Nepal can trace its history back to the 7th century and the arrival of Kirati sheepherders. Today, misty temples perch on rugged ridges, monasteries peer over deep valleys, faded by centuries, and Kathmandu's Old City brims with ancient Buddhist temples and ornate palaces.

Situated in Bardia National Park, Bardia Adventure Resort spreads over 5 acres of land with typical style tharu cottages but equipped with modern facilities. Its prime location with 50 ft watchtower makes the jungle experience more adventurous. Dining hall is decorated with deer horns, 'tharu' arts and sculptures, with small bar on the corner. Business meetings, parties or wedding ceremony can be done in the conference/theater hall, it is also used for 'tharu' cultural programs.
A great find in the heart of Bardiya Great Location!!! “The host was very welcoming and friendly. The room was great value. The food was good, too. I left with fond memories.” Great Jungle tour!!! This was such a lovely place to stay would have been great to stay for longer. This place will exceed your expectations as it did with us!!!

Nestled in the Himalayan foothills, an authentic Newari Manor House lovingly restored to its former glory. The Famous Farm just oozes with rustic charm and character. Delightful, colourful gardens with a sunny disposition offer places of peace. With authentic, village Nepal right outside the front door, Famous Farm is the perfect place to slow down, relax and simply be at ease.
I wanted a place to relax for a few days after a two week trek and Famous Farm fitted the bill perfectly. The buildings have been lovingly restored. Very traditional with lots of quirks and character. It isn’t 5* but that’s not what you’d come for. Similarly, the gardens are beautifully manicured. Lots of colour and different places to sit and eat, have a beer, read a book, nap…. Staff are lovely. Some of them are still learning their trade after covid, but everything is done with a smile and a keenness to take care of you. The owner is great. Always up for a chat and a mine of information. He drew me a map so I could go out and explore the local area one day. I had all my meals at Famous Farm because there’s nowhere else to eat in the area. But this isn’t a problem, as the quality is high, times are to suit and the portions are more than adequate! Although I assume you could probably request certain things within reason, there’s no menu, so every meal was a surprise. The card machine wouldn’t work when I came to pay. Luckily I just about had enough, but it’s something to bear in mind. The colouring on the bedroom floor dirties your feet really bad, as I learned to my cost until I started keeping my flip flops on! The hotel has two dogs. Fun, friendly, and totally non-aggressive. I thought it was a shame they keep them on a chain - they’re so lovely and they wouldn’t harm a fly. Away from Famous Farm, the historic village was hit hard by the earthquake and is still very much under reconstruction - work has been severely delayed by covid. But it’s still a good place to look around.

I am most impressed that Riverside permitted our dog to accompany us; I believe this truly sets their hotel apart from many others since I realize Americans have a very different cultural acceptance of dogs that Nepalis do not. For us, a dog is a companion and friend. We are grateful that Riverside not only recognized our difference in culture but also accommodated it. I believe this kind of approach establishes Riverside as a resort on an international scale and ability rather than an average Nepalese hotel. Our delight continued as we proceeded to dinner. Our server, Mohan Thapa, efficiently and warmly greeted us, and proceeded to not only accommodate our every request but even anticipated it by removing our used utensils and replacing them with clean cutlery prior to the arrival of the main meal. After living in Nepal for three months now, we have grown accustomed to the low quality of food. We were surprised at the excellent cocktails and exceptional quality of our meal...after ordering the "steak sizzler," I was shocked to hear Mohan ask whether I'd like it cooked medium or well done. Of course this is the standard in America, but certainly not in Nepal. My hopes perked up that I would soon taste a genuine steak rather than the Nepalese equivalent. I was not disappointed! Cooked at a perfect medium temperature, I received a steak true to form. We returned to our room that was clean, cool, and adequate, a great relief after experienced below-average accommodations at both the Heritage Hotel in Pokhara and the Hyatt Regency in Kathmandu. The next morning we encountered the same great service again in the form of our server, Lila, who meticulously anticipated our every need...he even arrived with a clean knife when he noticed our daughter using a spoon to spread some jam on her toast. What service! Our thrill only increased at the pristine state of the pool: with a constant freshwater source, attentive lifeguards, comfortable hammocks, and fluffy towels, we enjoyed ourselves immensely. In short, Riverside Springs Resort has become the standard by which we will measure our experiences in Nepal. As frequent international travelers, we will henceforth recommend Riverside to every friend and acquaintance due to Riverside's superior commitment to excellence in hospitality, food, and accommodations. We had an overall exceptional experience beginning with the sales team who booked our room without complications, the parking attendant who secured our car overnight, the welcome desk attendant who efficiently checked us in and gave us a tour, or servers Mohan and Lila, the chef's attention to food quality and detail, the bartender's skill in creative and great cocktails, and the pool attendants' service. From start to finish, every member of Riverside Springs Resort is trained to the highest standard.

Villa Papillon is a beautiful family-run, rustic guesthouse situated in a quiet road just a minute's walk from Fewa Lake. We have a small organic farm with our own vegetables, fruit, honey, etc, which we use as the ingredients for our home-cooked meals which are served to the family and guests just the same. Rooms are clean and tidy, with 24 hour hot water and WiFi.
We stay in Villa Papillion for 1 month, it really comfortable place, with nice room, beautiful garden and outstanding hospitality. The family is open, kind and very friendly. I feel care like at home:). Niru treated with tasty fruit from the garden and the communication was amazing. The place is quite, with good Wi-Fi, I was able to work remotely. The room is good, with comfortable bed, nice view to the garden and small kitchen with the balcony. The location is close to the lakeside. I enjoy stay in Villa Papillion and recommend it :)

To all dear friends and visitors, This is to inform you that farm is closed at the moment because all the house and building was badly damaged by earthquake. So the place will remain close until next notice. We will try to restart place as earlier we can. Thank you

CHULLU WEST HOTEL and Restaurant is situated at the altitude of 3990m in GUNSANG, an hour’s walk above the village of Manang, on the way to the Thorung La pass,on the famous Annapurna circuit trek. Double rooms mostly, at a cheap price with unique views on the whole Annapurna range, a panoramic restaurant with heated dining hall. Fresh organic produce cooked. Possbility in season to visit the yack sheperds'pastures and/or pick local berries. Since january 2017, you can have access to internet thanks to solar Wifi.
On our way from Manang to Thorong Pedi we stopped at Chullu West Hotel. This is a place you can feel the responsibility the people have for the area and for taking care of their guests. Aside the great home made muffins and the home grown spices we got great informations about the way up – and a perfect mountain view. I ran the whole Great Himalaya Trail, but Chullu made it to my top list.
