Poros (Greek: Πόρος) is a small Greek island-pair in the southern part of the Saronic Gulf, about 58 km (36 mi) (31 nautical miles) south from Piraeus and separated from the Peloponnese by a 200 m (656 ft) wide sea channel, with the town of Galatas on the mainland across the strait. Its surface area is about 31 square kilometres (12 sq mi) and it has 3,780 inhabitants. The ancient name of Poros was Pogon. Like other ports in the Saronic, it is a popular weekend destination for Athenian travellers.

We had a fabulous time on this Catamaran tour, we visited Mykonos, Paros, Serifos, Kythnos and Athens. We experienced beautiful weather, crystal blue seas, golden beaches, lovely tavernas, quaint cafes, fabulous Greek food and hospitality. We were even Lucky enough to be escorted by dolphins for parts of the trip! There was always something new to see and do. Captain Periklis did a great job, he went out of his way to ensure we enjoyed every minute of this adventure. The boat was in really good condition, the cabins, bathrooms and exterior areas were really spacious. Well done Sailing Blue. We will definitely do this again.

My son, daughter-in-law and I had booked a 14-day private tour of Athens, Crete, Santorini, Milos and Naxos with Private Tours Greece from May 1-14, 2020 and made a 30% down payment by credit card on 02/06/2020. All interactions with Private Tours Greece went smoothly and were professional and friendly. Then, due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic and my son's illness, on 03/13/2020, well ahead of the deadline for a fully-refundable cancellation, I asked Private Tours Greece to release all reservations it had made on our behalf, but to hold my deposit, in the hope that we might be able to reschedule our trip later in 2020 or in the spring of 2021. Private Tours Greece complied with my request and issued a credit voucher for the down payment I had made. As the pandemic continued to surge and Greece remained closed to visitors from the United States, on 4/17/2021, after essentially extending an interest-free loan to Private Tours Greece for over a year, I requested that my down payment be fully refunded and credited to the same credit card account to which it had been charged. Thereupon, Private Tours Greece staff claimed that the request for refund had been "forwarded" ... as it turned out later, to Alpha Bank. Nothing happened for a week. I then engaged in repeated e-mail exchanges with Private Tours Greece staff, only to be subjected to a stream of equivocations, obfuscations of the facts, and invalid excuses, including a claim that Private Tours Greece was doing me a favor by agreeing to a refund because the Greek government had allegedly given it the option to hold my funds indefinitely. I then contacted the general manager of the company, who sent me what purported to be a Greek language request to Alpha Bank (that I was unable to read) to issue the refund, along with further invalid excuses, never responding to my complaint that Private Tours Greece was in breach of its contractual obligation to issue a full refund of my down payment, not to mention doing the honorable thing, i.e., issue an immediate refund from an account he controlled directly, rather than blaming Alpha Bank for the delay by claiming that it "required" 10-15 "working" days to complete the request. Even that outlandishly ridiculous period has now expired! A complaint I submitted to Alpha Bank has received no response to date. It has now been nearly a full month since my refund request of 4/17/2021, and I may have to initiate legal action against Private Tours Greece ... with all the complexities and additional outlays and delays that would involve ... in order to reclaim my funds. The lesson to be learned here is that Private Tours Greece cannot be counted upon to honor its promises and contractual commitments. If there is any chance at all that you may have to cancel your trip, STAY AWAY!

We stopped at the Acropolis, Temple of Hephaestus, Greek Agora, Lycabettus Hill, the glass running man, and the Olympic Stadium in my half day tour. 100% worth it, got some great photos and better memories, and would happily suggest them again.

9. Full-Day Private Tour to Poros Island from Athens

Greece Athens Taxi GAT

Poros is a little island just an hour away from Athens. It is a popular destination for day trips and weekend getaways from the capital of Greece. Because of its proximity to Athens, its small size and its beautiful natural landscape, Poros gets pretty busy during summer, without losing its unspoiled charm. The island’s center of activities is Poros Town, the main village of Poros. The first thing you’ll notice as the boat enters the port is the elegant Neoclassical houses and the Clock Tower, on a hill above the port, which offers a great view over the region. The waterfront of Poros Town is the busiest of all spots. It is lined by private yachts, fishing boats, seaside cafeterias, and small gift shops. Buses depart from Poros Port to many beautiful beaches and resorts around Poros. Isthmus of Corinth, a narrow neck of land connecting the Peloponnese to mainland Greece and separating the Corinthian Gulf from the Saronic Gulf, and finally the Ionian Sea from the Aegean Sea.

Inclusions: Air-conditioned vehicle, Mobile Chargers, Bottled Water, Mercedes Benz vehicles equipped with child seats, Boat Tickets

We spent 5 days sailing in Greece and had a full day in Athens to fill at the end - Konstantinos came highly recommended so we hired him for the day to take us around all the main sights in Athens before driving us to the airport. He was excellent - knowledgable, charming, and good value for money. We would highly recommend using him for a tour...:)
