Calle San Pedro is one of the charming old streets of Hondarribia. We pretty much walked along almost all of them and admired the medieval feel of this amazingly preserved historic town. Calle San Nicolas is also lovely and walking down all the way to the Paseo de Bidasoa is very pleasant.

Plaza de Armas is a gem of the Hondarribia old town dominated by the mighty medieval fortress known as the Castle of Charles V, which is a home to the imposing Parador de Hondarribia now. You can sample some really good pintxos in several colorful taverns (we really liked the tavern called “Antxiña”), admire the views of the sea, walk around the Castle, buy souvenirs in the lovely boutiques... Such a wonderful place to enjoy the charms of the Basque Country.

St.Mary Gate is the entrance to the old town and one of those charming medieval corners that make Hondarribia so authentic. Very photogenic spot.
