Sandstone Ranch Park

Off the highway, past the playgrounds and ball fields of Sandstone park, is a piece of 1880's history. You can drive to the historic Sandstone ranch visitors center or ride your bike there down the beautiful redone St. Vrain greenway. House is only open certain days but great place to hike around the grounds. Parking limited but more parking on top in upper lot by bathroom. Beautiful views from up top.

Roosevelt Park

Weather attending a free Jazz Concert in the Summer or Ice Skating in the Pavilion in the winter, Roosevelt Park is small but a worthy stop. Encompassing about one city block, there is a fun walking path, a beautiful rose garden, a senior center and a park house. There is a parking lot, it is handicap accessible, family friendly and easy to find. Grab some food from a nearby restaurant and have a picnic on the lawn. Dogs and kids are welcome.

St. Vrain State Park

Reviewed By mysugarpie - Tulsa, United States

There are two sections to this park. The lower numbers (1-41) have water and electric and 42-87 have full hookups. We stayed in #11. We usually opt for full hookups, but would not do so here. Our section (Pelican Loop), had a walking trail surrounded by a pond with cat tails and numerous beautiful pelicans in all of their glory and in the middle was a small island. It reminded me of Disney World's landscaping. Many mature shade trees lined the paved shaded roads. We had a level cement pad and a covered table. The newer sites with full hookups had ponds but no mature trees and gravel roads complete with dust. When occupants left site, the park staff were right there to spray and disinfect the area. They even swept the gravel to adhere to Covid precautions. Very impressive! The only con (and not that bad), was the park being very close to I-25. It was great for convenience and directions. A bit noisy, but once inside the camper, you didn't even notice! I would highly recommend and would love to return.
