SKALVIJA Cinema Center is a small (120 seats) art-house cinema situated in central Vilnius. Small but cozy, it is well known amongst film lovers for its distinctive repertoire. The programming focuses on non-commercial European and World cinema, both classics and recent film. SKALVIJA is the major venue for cinematic events – festivals, meetings with filmmakers, retrospectives, special screenings.
Skalvija is the oldest (opened in 1963) cinema in Vilnius, which is located in the city center, next to the Green Bridge. It mainly shows arthouse films, but the repertoire is diverse - you can find both classics and recent films for a friendly price (at the moment it is 4 euros). My personal favorite - Sunday evenings. It is when they show classical films. Also, at the end of September Skalvija organise annual documentary film festival called VDFF. Visit if you have a chance, it has a great vibe. My tip: come earlier or stay after a film in a vintage cafe (Skalvijos bufetas). Important: it is open 1 hour before the first film!

37-Seat film hall, which offers debuting, low-budget, independent films. They are not the first youth, but the eternal history of cinema. Also we offer tour of the film archive and rent a movie hall for quiet evenings or events. You will be always welcomed by the owner, cinephile Valdemaras Isoda welcomes everyone with open arms and is himself a ‘substitute’ for modern trailers.
