Lotsa good memories of the spit, beach, lighthouse and views of both beach side and harbour side, including tug boats pulling huge tankers out to sea.... And whales to top it off

Barry Park has is it. A little remote to make it more exclusive, but accessible by car. Public amenities, BBQ's, structured walks and a lookout that would be fabulous for whale watching Definately worth seeking out

A break in the rain on the weekend got us out for a coastal walk and we lingered here as others were saying there were whales and dolphins swimming in close. We saw 3 whales and one of the largest pods of dolphins we’d seen, must’ve been about 60 of them. Truly incredible.

This is such a beautiful place not far from Newcastle and Maitland. We've visited many times. There are walking tracks with some amazing lookouts, as well as 4WD tracks that lead to some great little spots to explore. The kids love going bushwalking at Mount Sugarloaf, and being so close, we can make it a regular visit. Beautiful spot!

we took our grandchildren to the fort and were overwhelmed by the park area and the views back towards Newcastle and beaches. If you are a keen photographer or just love scenic views and or a picnic this is a fabulous place to visit.
