This Italian-speaking region in Southern Switzerland is on the border with Italy. Bellinzona is the capital, and Lugano is the most important city in the canton, known for its beautiful waterfront, steep hillsides and gorgeous lake views. Castelgrande is a lovely medieval castle overlooking the city that has recently been restored. The Centovalli Railway is a scenic train that operates between Locarno, Switzerland and Domodossola, Italy, traveling through the breathtaking "Hundred Valleys." Lake Como is nearby, the home of People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive,” George Clooney.

Perfect place to be when traveling with dogs. You are getting an apartment and not a room. Spacious, with bedroom, living room, kitchenette and bathroom. Not to forget to mention the large balcony. Hard floor rather than carpet is also a big plus. A highlight is the lovely park. It is also a retirement home, so very quiet, no screaming kids. Parking garage, gym and indoor pooil (around 17 m long, so you can really swim). Very kind staff. 10 mins walk from the Lungolago di Locarno. The dogs loved our stay too. :-) We‘ll be back soon.

Dormi en 1/2 pension dans le cadre d'une longue rando itinérante de Biasca à Airolo fin octobre. Petit chambre douillette tout confort, accueil très sympa de Daria, excellente pizza le soir...on reviendra pour la castagnata 2022 !

Bed & Bike Tremola San Gottardo is located at the beginning of the legendary Tremola road on the south side of the Gotthard. Our Bed & Bike is the ideal starting point to discover the Gotthard region. Our 8 double rooms, all with private bathrooms, free WIFI, and TV, are the result of an elegant renovation, which respects the original architecture and the environment
Small cosy village hotel in the middle of the village. The room was very clean, and old elements like the wooden floor were integrated to a modern design. The bed was very comfortable. Food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast.

The pros nicely renovated houses peaceful clean inside The cons there was once a nicely looked after garden no firing wood or sun shades really messy round the houses under the line: a pitty and disturbing that the price does not match with the expectations (the pics online show the better times)

This is a friendly, family run establishment in the Valle Maggia. From the patio you overlook the stunning valley and village. The food is good, the prices were reasonable and the staff was helpful. This is a place where both locals stop for coffee and tourists wonder in for the first time.

During a month long road trip through Europe we booked a night at this place on route back to Milan. Our only regret was that it was just for one night, the place itself is absolutely gorgeous. Our hosts were lovely and have put their heart and sole into the renovations of these buildings. With a beautiful courtyard to sit in the piece and quiet enjoying a beer or a glass of vino to the immaculately modern interiors of the rooms, the place was flawless. If you are visiting the area then you would be mad not to stay at this place.
Rent the elegant Casa Jolanda apartments with every comfort from 1 to 4 rooms, in a quiet central location in Bellinzona, just a few steps from the train station and close to all major shops and restaurants. In the immediate vicinity of Castelgrande and the Sport Center (pool, tennis courts, etc.). Approximately 30 km from Lugano and from Lugano-Agno airport.
