Chaotic, crowded, and cosmopolitan, Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, is a city of contrasts. Home to millions of people from around the world, the city is a mixture of languages and cultures, poverty and wealth. The city boasts some of the best nightlife in Asia and some of the worst traffic. Every holiday, the locals escape the pollution and the crowds to enjoy relaxing diversions like Ancol Dreamland, an amusement area featuring water parks, beaches, golf courses, and a SeaWorld.

Scattered through Jakarta Bay are the 1000 Islands, Palau Seribu. Known for great beaches, diving, and holiday travel, these make a great day trip or weekend getaway.
Went here to spend quite new year, also need the sea air and relax. I normally stay on the resort island, which charge per person/ night, this time I went to an habitat island. Pramuka island. I book the hotel from booking.com and book the boat transport on seperate. The hotel was per room/night, and the boat was 1250 horse power motor, with aircon inside the cabin. It takes 1 hour from Ancol, and the boat leave at 8 am. When you get there the room will not be ready because the guest will only check out at 1 pm as the boat returning to Ancol leaving at 3 pm. ???? The hotel got no restaurant, but you can order simple food. I found this descent restaurant that serve descent food, with some tables and view. The restaurant name “kampoeng koneng” i think this is the only restaurant that serve nice hot clean food. Rent a boat for a day trip to island hop cost us Rp. 500k ( as we are only 2 person ) the floating restaurant got a nice cold beer, and the island around is beautiful. It’s a must do when you visit here, to rent a traditional wooden boat and do island hop. Don’t forget to bring your own bag to keep your own rubbish. Don’t leave anything behind :)

Beautiful island! Clear blue water all around and white sandy beaches. It’s so sad I only stumbled upon this island instead of staying there. Part of the island is occupied by a resort but the rest of it is empty. Spent the whole day reading, doing yoga etc. Will definitely be back. Entrance fee of 100 or 200 rupiah I can’t remember.

You may hoop to several islands by boat that you can rent either a group or by your self and have water activity like diving snorkling swimming or just playing on the beach and see the sunset or sunrise. Not far from the hectic city of Jakarta
