A friendly hotel in the mountains Venabu fjellhotell is situated centrally on the Venabygdsfjellet mountain plateau, south of Rondane National Park. This special mountain area offers fine experiences in nature, across the plateau, in its lakes & streams, waterfalls & mountain tops stretching towards 1500m asl. Venabu is built in several stages in Norwegian architectural style with light & airy rooms throughout. There are 56 bedrooms with shower, WC & telephone. 6 Of the rooms are suitable for wheelchair users. We also have high standard holiday cabins for rent. Peaceful & relaxed atmosphere throughout.
We are an older couple with one skier and one who is no longer able to ski. The combination of going out skiing in the morning and walking after lunch worked very well. The atmosphere in the hotel was warm and friendly and the home made food was excellent with many local dishes. After dinner there was live piano music in the cosy lounge with a log fire which we very much enjoyed. The ski hire was first class and with expert advice on waxing. The ski tracks were run up every few days with a machine and the tracks were in good condition. We have stayed at Venabu several times in the winter and also with a group in the summer. Excellent stay every time! We look forward to coming back.

Welcome to Spidsbergseter Resort Rondane, a mountain hotel in the lovely scenery south of Rondane National Park in Norway.
The hotel is in a fantastic location. Lots of well groomed trails straight from the hotel. The hotel itself is lovely and clean with friendly helpful staff. The food is outstanding and we had some lovely meals including reindeer, wild boar, venison and beef fillet, all cooked to perfection. There’s a nice Spa perfect to unwind in after a days skiing. There’s a couple of plunge pools in the Spa that are unused. Would be great if they made one into a cold plunge pool to use after the sauna. The facilities are great. You get a locker in the ski barn for your ski gear and racks to wax your skis. The hire shop has good quality equipment and staff are helpful in fitting you with equipment. Annie was our instructor and was great. Thank you for your patience. Gave us a great start to the holiday and checked up on us as the week went on. Thank you. She gave us some great tips such as the Skisporet app which is pretty essential after a fresh fall of snow. The rooms could do with updating particularly the shower rooms but they were very clean and adequate for our stay. The Aquavit bar was nice although a little expensive for us. Our host was great and informative about the history of Spidsbergsetter and Aquavit. In summary I highly recommend this hotel for outdoor adventure. Set in beautiful surroundings a lovely clean hotel with friendly helpful staff. Thank you for a lovely week.

A remote beautiful location. We stayed while skiing the Troll løypa. Recently under new management who are extremely service minded and helpful. Comfortable cabins, built in traditional Norwegian farm style. There is a small supermarket for provisions, but meals are also available in the main building. Dinner and breakfast was really excellent. Recommended.

The food we had at the hotel restaurant was the worst I've ever had in a hotel, microwave veggies, lukewarm chicken and a sauce straight out of the tin. Very poor performance. Rooms very just barely ok as to cleanliness & the whole place was a bit run down. Kvitfjell has nice skiing but the resort itself is absolutely terrible. Avoid this hotel if you can.

WELCOME TO GUDBRANDSGARD HOTEL - Your Châlet-style hotel in the middle of the Norway's best ski sloapes. Kvitfjell is the alpinists' natural choice in a very snow-sure part of Norway. The solid building style from Gudbrandsdalen meets the mighty landscape in Kvitfjell and makes its mark on Gudbrandsgard Hotel's atmosphere. Here, traditions and modern expectations merge, giving you a sense of well-deserved effortless luxury. Gudbrandsgard Hotel is the place to be after an active day. Treat yourself to some relaxing hours in the wellness area or enjoy good food and drink in one of our restaurants. The comfortable rooms give you a good night's sleep before strapping your skis right outside the hotel walls in the morning. If you come here for professional replenishment, the combination of modern courses and conference facilities and fresh mountain air guarantees good experiences.
This hotel is perfectly situated near the main lift hub of kvitfjell ski resort with the Olympic downhill slope from the '94 Olympics and which is also a staple on the world cup circuit each year. Rooms were comfortable, staff excellent, friendly and very service minded and the food for both breakfast and dinner was excellent. Can't whish for much more for a ski weekend getaway.

I recommend this nice and clean hostel in the beautiful countryside. The guy who greeted us was the kindest person I've met on my tour in Norway. I was on tour with a group and he provided us several dishes and glasses of paper tableware which we then benefited us for the rest of our trip. Also I had forgotten some clothes in the bathroom and he was so kind to send them to the hotel in Bergen where we stayed in the following days. Thank you Wojciech !

After many years of travel this is the first time I have ever arrived and not stayed at my accommodation. We arrived to find no proper reception, but just arrival sheets stuck to the door with key instructions. At this point telling us that no footware can be warn in the hostel, but we can rent slippers or walk around in socks or bare feet. We then get to our room to find that there is bedding, but no sheets, pillow cases or duvet cover. The say it depends on which room type you booked! But you can rent them, and if you dont rent them and use the bedding as is that cost you even more!. No towels either. To pay you have to go to the attached bar between 20:00 and 22:00. There are no bins in the rooms, just recycling ones in the corridor. So i try calling about the bedding, no answer but then a message saying I didnt book them but can get them from the bar between 20:00 and 22:00. This was followed by me cancelling and leaving , followed by lots of messages which were quite aggressive. Well it was obvious with all shoes, bins, payment etc that they dont want to employ anyone to run the place properly.
