Reviewed By sleeper72It was fine , no surprises , a good place to stay. Bed was comfortable , but didn’t care for pillow . Breakfast was the norm for hotels , but no toaster. Desk people were friendly . Seemed clean . Location was good for us . Would recommend this hotel if you are staying there

For a relaxing view of the river, take a ride on the Pearl Button Paddlewheel boat across from downtown Muscatine. Our recently renovated riverfront offers a walking trail, park, and an interactive fountain for kids. Walk two blocks to 2nd street and you will find shops and restaurants, many with views overlooking the river.

Reviewed By E5954BKsherrylUnder normal circumstances Hampton Inns or guarantee one of the better hotels you can go to but it seems that staff runs the house now, When I arrived I was told the staff only cleans when you leave and if you need something please call and someone will get it for you. I have no problem with that until I ask and they can’t bring up the coffee packet and I could go down to get it because there is no one to bring. No problem but when I get there and they tell me they don’t have any I am a bit mad. They could have saved me a trip by telling me earlier. Sherry L. 4-27-22

Great Stay - Almost a "5"
Reviewed By Susan DSuper convenient location as it was close to restaurants, gas stations, etc. Front desk and hotel staff were welcoming, warm and helpful. Breakfast perfect for what I needed. Rooms well appointed, clean and updated. The only changes would be to have the handicapped buttons for the doors updated and to check the cleaning solution used for bathtubs as the bathtub was super slick, and I do not have any mobility needs.

Reviewed By Neal AI talked my lovely Janice into staying in Muscatine for 3 nights so I could trace my Iowa ancestors. She found this amazing B&B on the edge of town. Karl and Mary treated us like family from the moment we crossed the doorstep. If going back in time in a classic mid-western farmhouse from the 19th century chocked full of art, nick-backs, hand made crafts, farm tools and a cuddly golden lab is your cup of tea then head on down to Highway 61, turn left at Tipton road and up the tree shaded driveway to this gem. If you are a yogurt and granola breakfast eater watch out! Their farm breakfasts with Karl’s 5 egg and ham omelets and Mary’s Monkey Bread may just change your morning routine. Janice and I are ready to come back without any excuses.

Room canceled rudely
Reviewed By C6165NSkimmMade a reservation through Wyndham to stay at this location and right before we planned to be there the hotel called us and said they had given our room to another guest and canceled our reservation, then hung up the phone. We called back and were told basically, tough luck! Explain that to four kids aged 9- under.I used to think this was a decent place to stay and have had several parties in their pool party room- but never again will I also spend my $$ there!

Lung Cancer???
Reviewed By jbd526This is an older remodeled hotel, was nice, staff were very polite and nice, rooms were clean but the entire place reaked of cigarette smoke. I think this place had a 2 pack a day requirement to stay there. When we left to check out at 0630 all the surrounding rooms had their doors propped open with the swing lock and cigarette smoke just pouring out! If you're a 2 pack a day kinda person this is the place for you. If your the type who's trying to avoid emphysema and lung cancer you might want to move on down the street to a non smoking kinda place.

Reviewed By ChendersCommandersMy family and I just had another amazing stay at The Merrill. Everything about our stay was perfect. From Jerry Graham meeting and greeting us at the door, to Hana executing a quick and efficient check in. Our arrival was fantastic. We checked into an extremely clean room thanks to Vilma and her wonderful housekeeping staff. During our stay we enjoyed some amazing menu options from Maxwell's. Chef Tessa and Chef Ryan have some amazing options and we really enjoyed the braised short ribs. Justin Hunt and Hailey made our bar experience memorable with some awesome cocktail suggestions. And Vanessa and Taylor from the Front Office checked in with us throughout our stay to ensure everything was going well. General Manager Lee Belfield should be very proud of his team as they worked seamlessly to provide an exceptional experience for us. Thank you Merrill Family. Until we see you again........
