Bruno, an Italian from Rome, and Judite, a Mozambican from Maputo, moved to Mozambique Island (Ilha de Moçambique) in 2010 and started rebuilding and restructuring some old walls and rooms aging over 400 years in a property of 1.800 Square metres. All construction is strictly made of coral stones and lime, following the island traditional way. Three of the six suites and rooms planned are now fully functional, including a "Five Stars" breakfast, old style dinners on demand, uncommon homemade delicious ice creams and aloe jams. Judite's decoration is a fine mix of old and modern styles, mainly composed with restored local furniture pieces adorned by unique and unusual ornaments. Table service is very complete and old fashion in style. Historical and cultural chats are the common features made around the eating table. One huge Indian Almond Tree protects the house from the sun and allows having the meals on the main terrace. Sea breeze is always keeping the setting fresher than any surrounding areas. The B&B locates in the middle of the island, so that all attraction sites are within 5-10 minute walk. From the roof terrace, you can see the whole island at 360 degrees and assist to astonishing sun settings… maybe while refreshing with an ice cream or a sorbet. Nearby are situated also the main restaurants. The owners sit, eat and make conversation with the guests, whenever possible.
Jam and staff fantastic. I'll return with my family. Thank you Jardim dos aloes. Bruno and Judith were very friendly. I liked the breakfast, room, place and commodity. Jardin dos Aloes is a super place to rest and Ilha de Moçambique is mystic place

At the image of the Island itself, Terraço das Quitandas is a guest house whose architecture and decoration are translated into a mix of details that link the East to Europe, and welcomes with great simplicity and tradition, allowing a unique experience of living with a remote but still present past. The aim of Terraço das Quitandas is that its guests enjoy all of this unique infrastructure based on the concept of a well differentiated and inimitable well serve and receive.
Can’t wait to go back after returning to Europe. My friends and I spent 5 days on vacation at the Terraço das Quitandas in the Island of Mozambique. Facing the beach, just a few meters from the door, this guest house is located in a quiet and peaceful area where you can enjoy the most beautiful sunset of Africa and where the major monuments are located. Restored to its original design, Terraço das Quitandas offers its guests, or friends, which was how we all felt, the most unique experience, due not only to Isa and Manuel and the rest of the staff, who were most friendly and accommodating, but also to its character and charm. Boat trips and tours can be arranged, allowing the guests to visit other islands with amazing beaches or just enjoy the natural beauty of the island making a return to the past. The grounds surrounding Terraço das Quitandas are beautiful in the way only African country can be, and one of the greatest experiences is just lounging on a chair in the terrace enjoying the view, soaking in the most memorable sunsets or moonlight. When temperatures lower, I recommend the recreation salon, where you can enjoy some games, read or just chill out. Breakfast is exceptional. You can also have lunch and dinner served with a mixture of African, Arab, Indian and Portuguese flavours and scents. Food is homemade by nice and warm local staff. You can also enjoy amazing seafood in restaurants nearby. We will return to this african family, no doubt about it.

Escape from stress to a place where simplicity still reigns, off the coast of Mozambique. With all the comforts of modern life, at the Feitoria Boutique Hotel, you can get lost in the stunning natural beauty, peaceful and friendly life, and still echoed by adventurers of the past: Outdoor pool with gazebos, swings and sun loungers Half-covered garden Patio for outdoor events International and local cuisine restaurant Bar with deck by the sea Roof terrace 20 Guest Rooms Conference room Our historic building, completed at the beginning of the 19th century, would be the “feitor's” dwelling, the shop and the warehouse: the front façade facing the street (current reception and conference room), the inner courtyard facing the sea (leisure area and pool), several warehouses on the left and right (guest rooms), and, by the sea, larger warehouses for larger goods (restaurant).
We spent two nights to explore Ilha. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. We had two beautiful rooms, each decorated very nicely. Beds were very comfortable, rooms had all you need including slippers. We are at the restaurant all of our meals and were never disappointed. The views from the restaurant are stunning - sunset drinks a must. They helped us arrange a walking tour so we could learn more about the history of this magical village. We would recommend this hotel to all our friends.

Very spacious! 1 deluxe suite with full kitchen, dining area and living rooms. Gorgeous setting; ocean side sunsets here are breathtaking! private baths, 24 hour reception, room service and check in is at 11:00 AM.
We spent 7 nights at Rickshaws Pousada e Cafe on the Island of Mozambique. It is a lovely hotel with very friendly staff who go out of their way to meet your needs. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Our room had a full kitchen so we were able to make our coffee each morning. The restaurant on the patio faces the ocean and it is very relaxing to watch the fishing boats as you eat your meals, enjoy the sunset each evening. The food is excellent! I would highly recommend this hotel whether you are doing business, or there for pleasure. They will help you set up tours to see the old Fort, the museum and even a walking tour of the Island. It was fascinating.

I’ve been in the hotel for the NYE with my wife and the hotel was not ready to the enormous crowds, the hotel staff was impeccable and very friendly, good rustic hotel. We noticed right at the arrival that our room was not ready (apparently the checkout is at 2pm),several parts of the hotel were in maintenance (this should be done months in advance), there was a kind of disrespect with the guests, there was an Karaoke till late night and open to everyone and some guests us including we were kind of uncomfortable with the in and out and the noise etc. open Wi-Fi to outsiders which resulted in bad signal for the guests, I think for next year the hotel should prepare better to receive it’s guests. Not happy at all, lot of improvements is need here.

Cabaceiras Village is quite unique. It is ideally situated on one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world and feels very much a part of it. At the time of writing it was run by a lovely Italian lady called Stephamia, who couldn't do enough for us. The cabanas are rustic with thatched roofs and are totally integrated with their surroundings. They are clean and comfortable. The food, prepared by locally trained staff on charchoal fires is locally sourced often with the catch of the day,is delicious. Apart from the manager Cabaceiras employs its staff from the nearby village, which it helps support. Our 4 days at Cabaceiras were an unforgettable and unique experience. We made many new friends and hope to return one day. A big thanks to everyone.

Hotel Omuhipiti used to be a nice place but it seems that the manager is not creative and interested in his customers. They have great infrastructure but bit by bit it's falling apart. The staff also don't have nice attendance, it's like they are all demotivated. The meals are not good, hope they improve

This privately owned Lodge is nothing other than Paradise. To stay in this beautifully designed Lodge with its large and spacious rooms, 180 degree balcony facing the Indian Ocean where you can watch the sun rise, be spoilt by the caring owners and their wonderful staff, eat delicious home cooked food and simply relax, has to be the perfect place to go.
