Just an hour by train from capital Copenhagen, Helsingor basks on Denmark's North Riviera, surrounded by golden beaches and dense forest. It was a nice layover for visiting Helsingor. It is a little bit away from city center but it was near a nice shopping center with a grocery store. If your taking the bus to get around you will have to walk a little bit for the terminal.

A perfect location and run by a very friendly and serviceminded family that always are ready and more than willing providing you a perfect service. I have now been in this hotel 5 - 6 times over the last half a year and the experience is very high-end, every single time. The rooms are cozy and very clean. Sheets and towels are super clean and compared to the prize its a perfect spot if you need to stay the night. On top, the quality of the breakfast - including in the prize is much more than anyone will expect. It is very good and a lot to choose from. The staff is with an appropriate intervals coming by to check if anything is missing. This fantastic family run hotel has what it takes and a lot more. I will give my best to the staff and recommend anyone just to try it out.

Stayed here for just one night on a short visit to Helsingor. A very friendly welcome and a good room. Very clean. Bed was comfortable. The location is perfect, right in the centre of town, but on a fairly quiet street. The station and ferry terminal are just several minutes walk. I really like this hotel and would definitely stay here again if I ever return to the area. Recommended.

Hello, We have changed our name to: In Danish : Marienlyst Strandhotel English: Marienlyst Beach Hotel
This is our second stay at Marienlyst. We had a fantastic first stay although the service in the main restaurant was below mediocre. Now with our second stay, we got absolutely zero flexibility from the booking desk or the front desk… I had asked to access the spa early on the arrival day as our dinner could only take place at 6 pm and with a five course meal, I couldn’t see us making time for the spa too (we had spa access included from 7-11 pm and again the following day from 7 am to 14 pm). Since we had to leave early the next morning, we would not be able to use the spa that day either. They told me that I could pay an additional DKK 700/couple to access the spa earlier. No changes were possible. Just to add here, an early spa access at Skodsborg Kurhotel is less than half of the what Marienlyst charge. I spoke to several of the staff members there and got the same answer. Nothing they could do to help out! With the prices they charge for a spa and gourmet stay, I can’t believe the lack of service and flexibility can exist in such a place. What a shame that an otherwise great hotel, fail so hard on the customer experience end.

This hostel overlooks the Sound and is just 2 km from the Kronborg Castle and the central Elsinore. It offers a private beach, a guest TV lounge and communal kitchen. All rooms at Danhostel Helsingor have private bathrooms. Many rooms offer views of the beach and the sea. Guests can choose to bring their own bed linen and towels or rent them Danhostels reception. A guest computer with free Internet access Danhostel Elsinore reception. Other amenities include a garden with a barbecue area and a kiosk where guests can purchase a wide selection of drinks and snacks. Danhostel Elsinore offers activities such as table tennis, billiards and football. There is also a playroom for children on site. Helsingor Golf Club is within walking distance and a public swimming pool is only 10 minutes drive away.
This was my 2nd trip and initially I chose it because it was dog friendly. My latest trip simply because it is a wonderful relaxed experience to stay there. Friendly staff, great private beach and a grand place to recharge. A short walk into the city with its many bars and restaurants or you can opt to use the kitchens where you can cook for yourself. I cannot fault the place at all and look forward to being a far more regular guest.
