Amazing customer service, amazing guesthouse. We stayed the Owl and Kitty Room, I loved the rustic, antique look and feel of the room. The bed was very comfortable. We loved that we had a large bath and luxury bath salts in the room. Much needed after a long and tiring drive. I honestly cannot fault the room and the customer service at all. The owner went of his way to make sure that our parents were also accommodated at the same place with us. The view was a bonus, I really wished I was staying much longer.

Book this unusual guesthouse and tour package, you will never forget the experience. Graham Chennells, your host welcomes you into his World, so real, it's like being invited home as a member of his family. Not standing on ceremony or much explanation, you are whisked to a pub in back of his son's hotel where you drink his signature brew, Zulu Blonde. Rest well that night because the next day includes a tour by Zulu guides into the home of a Sangoma, a village ceremony where only you and the villagers are invited to watch a real live ceremony. Nothing is staged on this trip. It is the most authentic experience you can have. Your tour guide is often a member of the same village. Malucie, our guide, facilitates the cultural interaction where two worlds literally meet as one for the visit. My wife and I witnessed a girl in the village "coming of age" with all the dancing, excitement, joy, colorful dresses, music and emotion that happens once in a zulu girl's lifetime. Graham makes sure that you are well fed because you eat whatever has been bought and prepared by his roomates that day. We showed up without a car which was not the norm. Graham borrowed his friends car and made sure we had a full experience. This is the real African experience, don't bypass eshowe, you will be missing out.

A mere hour and a half drive from Durban, this retreat is on the fringe of the 240Ha indigenous Dlinza Forest with abundant bird life and an Aerial Boardwalk. A stately residence with an exceptional ambience and caring personalised service. Legend has it that this guest house holds the secrets of the old Bishops of Zululand.
My husband was in the Eshowe area on business this month and spent a couple of nights at Bishops Guest House. He only had excellent feedback on this establishment - from friendly, professional hosts to clean, well appointed rooms. He will definitely stay there again.

This is a very old hotel that needs a make over. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked and the shower was good. No bar, no restaurant other than breakfast, no WiFi, not even ice as it was a very hot and humid place.

Was not ok at all. The manager or receptionist was very friendly yes but can't take your complains seriously she doesn't even apologize only her words lasts. Dirty place they don't prepare early for guests it's like they weren't expecting guests. Poor breakfast

We stayed at the Heron unit. It is spacious and wonderful. We stayed for 2 nights, but I would love to stayed longer. The shower is a bit small, but every thing else was very nice. We did not eat at the clubhouse because we attended a wedding. They supplied the food at the wedding and it was very tasty. Note that there are 3 steps down to the room. If that is a problem, ask for the other unit which is smaller but also nice.
