Great hotel - if this was 1979 (Hint: before internet)
Reviewed By S5588GCnickcThe property was ok, not horrible. The toilet was very low to the ground - like those at elementary schools. Not a problem for us but I can see it being problematic for older folks. Air conditioning was ok because it was cold outside but in the suite it was barely sufficient for the bedroom But the big problem is NO INTERNET. I was on the third floor. My devices could detect the internet but it was so weak the log on box wouldn’t come up more than half the time. I tried at peak time and many non-peak times because I knew I would write a review Why be negative and write a bad review? Well, when I tried to politely talk to someone about it I got attitude “Well, the router is on the first floor so people on the second and third floors need to wait for non-peak times.” Can you believe that? In America, in a major metropolitan area, in the 21st century? Totally unsatisfactory. The free breakfast was adequate but nothing special. No meat on Friday, just bland eggs and no cheese. On Saturday, lukewarm sausages. No heating under the chaffing dishes. But the big issue is no internet and at least one employee at 0900 Friday on May 20 with a bad, unhelpful attitude. I would have gladly moved to a different hotel but we were there for a family reunion and had two other rooms also.

This place is great, staff is awesome. Manager Bobbi is working hard to get this place back to Hilton standards

Reviewed By Ellen WOur non-smoking room wreaked of cigarette smoke, and no other rooms were available. There was a party of about 20 bikers just outside the entryway to the hotel, drinking and blasting music until past 1 in the morning - we couldn’t sleep. In the morning, there were people smoking cigarettes right at the entryway, with smoke coming in the building. There did’t appear to be enough staff to address either the partying at night or the smoking by the lobby. I felt badly for the staff. This was really a dreadful experience.

Poor condition
Reviewed By Michigander95Stayed here two nights while visiting family in the area. First impression upon walking in the lobby, was the smell of marijuana. Also noted this in the elevator and hallways. We really just needed beds for the night, so the room itself was fine, though in need of repairs. A couple of dents in the wall, suitcase stand was very rickety, one of the beds felt a little wobbly, like the base was about to break. In the bathroom the shower bar had been replaced and the old holes were very shoddily patched. The screen of the window was falling off. And we also noted some ants. We would not stay here again.

I called Wyndham after hotel management claimed he couldn't change the rate and was told by their customer service that they would look into it, I've had no reply.

My room had BED BUGS and the manager is avoiding me
Reviewed By theplcmIf I could rate this hotel a zero I would!!!! I was in town for a wedding from Alabama. Drove 13 hours to be there. I stayed from August 21st-23rd. We stayed in room 330… and received an early check in we had asked for. My friend and I noticed the bed sheets had spots on them but didn’t think anything of it since they were white sheets. And I understand some stains will not come out. We stayed 3 nights… not one time was our room serviced by a housekeeper, no new towels, no toiletries… nothing. On the morning we checked out, my friend noticed a bug in her bed when we woke up… not thinking anything of it we packed our stuff and left. When I got in the car I noticed BED BUG BITES all over my arm. And so did she. I called the hotel to let them know the room had bed bugs and to mark it out of inventory. I got an attitude from the front desk when I asked to speak to a manager. He said a manager would call me tomorrow. So I emailed pictures of our bed bug bites to the hotel management email. It has been 24 hours and still no call. So I called the hotel again today and asked to speak to a manager. The front desk cleared asked me what about and I told him it was about our previous stay and that we had bedbugs in our room. He asked me “room 330 right? Yeah we didn’t find anything” and I said well they’re in there not only did we see one but I have bites all over me. He said a manager would call me tomorrow (again) and when I told him I wanted to speak to one today he HUNG UP ON ME!!! This is completely disgusting and unacceptable. Bed bugs don’t just come out for you to find. If you allow someone else to check in that room (330) they will carry them home as well. I spent all night after a 13 hour drive cleaning my clothes, my property and showering to make sure they did not follow me home. I even threw away several items. I EXPECT A MANAGER TO CALL ME BACK RIGHT AWAY. Thanks, Porsche

Worst Hotel Experience, paid but could not spend the night
Reviewed By Sarah98KMI booked a room with Lexington Inn and Suites NW Chicago Elgin for one night stay on 10/22/21. When my partner and I arrived the property looked nothing like the pictures on the booking site, the pictures are clearly outdated; likely from a time when the hotel was under different management. We also learned upon arrival that they did not offer breakfast although their website says they do. When we got to our room we found there were large stains all over the sheets (see picture) and hair in the bed. Clearly the bedding had not been cleaned, the sheets had not been changed. We immediately went back down to the desk to ask for clean sheets and they told us they could not provide us with different (clean) sheets... so then they offered us a different room, I said that was fine “I just want clean sheets.” When we got to the new room we were disappointed, it was just as bad. There were stains and a cigarette burn on the bedding and white stains on the furniture in the room. We went back down to the desk and spoke to the manager, who said all they could do for us was offer to have us take a look at another room. After seeing two rooms in a row that we could not sleep in due to the state of the bedding and and unsettling stains on the furniture, I said all I want is a clean place to sleep but it doesn’t seem like they can offer that. I showed the front desk staff pictures of the bedding in the rooms they had given us and asked if he would want to sleep there and he agreed it was unacceptable. My partner and I left the hotel disappointed, we just couldn’t stay there, we cut our trip short and drove home at 10:30pm rather than stay in that filth. Before we left I asked the manager for a number to call to request a refund, he said there is no number, there are no refunds. I asked for a number to call to complain about the conditions of the hotel, he said I don’t know you booked online you tell me. I understand there is a no refund policy but we did not get what was promised online when we booked. We could not even stay there due to the conditions of the rooms. I feel I have been scammed. If you do decide to stay here also be warned when we pulled up there were multiple shadow characters hanging out in the parking lot. Right after leaving I called the site I booked through and told them about my experience, I didn’t want anyone else to call for this scam, and they offered to call the hotel and request an exception to the no refund policy. They called me back a few minutes later and said the manager was not in when they called and they would call again on Monday... we had just spoken to the manager 10 minutes ago at the hotel. I’m not saying don’t book here, but if you do book here do not expect what is shown in the photos. Do not expect a clean room or even clean bedding. I would recommend you bring some disinfectant spray and try not to think about where the different yellow and white stains came from. And don’t expect your money back even when they flat out tell you they can’t offer you a clean place to sleep.
