Gladstone is a privileged town and even more privileged to have the Lightbox espresso wine bar! Observing all restrictions and safety concerns one is able to relax in a beautiful environment, Food and wine of highest quality and superb service. I was reluctant to write this review with selfish motives. Numbers are still restricted but the large open areas do cater for a good number of people. I am coming back tomorrow for breakfast!

We spent some time here before travelling to Heron Island by boat and found great souvenirs that were really well priced compared with some of the other shops we had visited so far on our coastal driving trip. There were tonnes of info brochures as well if you needed info or maps about other places on your itinerary, and the staff were lovely. Note that if you are catching the Heron Island ferry the ferry staff will tell you on check in that the boat ride can be choppy (understatement of the decade - it is known as the vomit rocket for a reason) and will suggest you get travel sickness tablets at the information centre. Because it is not a licensed pharmacy they are only ginger tablets, so if you are heading there for the ferry, I strongly recommend you get some hard core travel sickness tablets from a chemist before you head out to the boat terminal - once you arrive there are no chemists around.

This gallery manages to attract excellent collections - Ken Done collection for example during my visit. A large gallery with a number of exhibitions running concurrently, the staff are passionate about their job and extremely friendly and informative. Make sure you drop in if in town and have a look around - it might surprise you.

Spinnaker Park is a beautiful spot right in the harbour. There are pathways right around it for walking and taking in the views. There are also lots of dedicated BBQ areas with electric bbq’s and table & chairs & some even have a roof over them. The gardens are all native and maintained beautifully and the large lawn areas. There is a netted swimming area with a small sandy beach, perfect for any age as it is sheltered from the elements like a small cove. There is also a restaurant in this area for breakfast, lunch or just a cuppa and all tables have a wonderful view of the harbour. The whole area is surrounded by water with the marina area on one side and the harbour on the rest. Well worth a visit at least!

Excellent spot to get an idea of the size and the going ons of the harbour below - easy almost-flat walk from the city centre - make sure to stop at the Outlook Cafe for lunch or a coffee ... then a walk down to the foreshore ( 111 steps ) ...

If you'd like to get a new perspective on Gladstone and the surrounding areas take a ride up the hill. There is plenty of parking and a 360 degree view of the city. It's free and close to everything.

I had dinner here last night and the food was amazing. Tandoori beef to be exact. Big serving and probably the best tandoori I have ever had. My husband had the beef roast and is still raving about it a day later. Highly recommend this place for a meal.

Showcase all that is beautiful about Central Queensland – nature and tranquility for the weary soul, superb local wines and dishes for the jaded palate, and gems and art to uplift the spirit. On a rise overlooking the vineyards surrounded by 100 ha of beautiful rolling woodland and with the majestic Mt Larcom as the backdrop, the visitors centre, Winery cellar door, Rose garden café, and Lazy Lizard gallery combine to create a truly impressive site. Gecko Valley is a “must see” tourism winery attraction in the Gladstone region. Gecko Valley is a family-owned business which is home to a vineyard, cellar door, Rose Garden café, local renowned artist paintings, hand-crafted bespoke designer jewellery and merchandise. "A Feast for Every Sense"! Cheers, Tony & Coleen
