The drive along Gruinard Bay coast road, north from Poolewe, gives stunning views over the bay. We have seen sea otters and all three kinds of diver in this bay. One of the loveliest views in Britain.

Stunning scenery with some nice places to eat, there is a good tourist information centre with a nice little cafe and a little shop. There is an old military base not far away ( ask at the tourist info ) with some great views. There are also some nice local beaches.

Latitude 57 is an arts & craft shop with a nautical flair. We feature art and crafts made by local artisans. Everything from handmade soaps, jewellery, candles, photographs, scarves, cards and Harris tweed products, and of course, boats of all shapes and sizes. Safety Measures: There will be a 'no face mask, no entry' rule and mandatory hand sanitiser at the door. A doorbell will be in place during opening hours. We are doing this to minimise our time in the shop in order to keep the air clean.
During our stay with the family in Badachro, we really liked the decor of our rental home. We quickly realised they were sourced from this beautiful shop which sells locally crafted sea-themed goods. We were spoilt for choice but managed to choose some very special decorative items for our house. We were also glad to hear that they sell online too.

Stayed in a cottage nearby and did this walk on our last day. It was a beautiful day and the walk was perfect. The woodland is looked after and route to the waterfall sign posted. It was easy underfoot apart from the last few metres which as stated is a steep incline. The bridge you have to cross needs some attention as it is beginning to rot in places. The best viewing point for pics is actually at the bridge as if you continue to the top you cannot actually see the waterfall. Well worth the visit.

The GALE Centre is the hub for our Community Development Trust, Gairloch & Loch Ewe Action Forum. The Centre comprises of a community cafe, shop & Tourist Information Point. We are fully sustainable, using the funds we make from our shop and cafe and this income allows us to extend our programme of activities and projects, bringing opportunities to support our local community.
Excellent place to have a coffee and cake especially the coffee cake which to me is the best in the uk and only made a few yards away. We have visited it for several years and always found it excellent with friendly staff who will stop and have a chat even this year with covid restrictions on they still had time to be friendly, there covid rules were excellent couldn't fault it. Would highly recommend them.

I have reviewed this place as an excellent gifts store in previous years and how sad it was to arrive this year to find that it is closing down in November 2020. I shall miss it greatly on our regular trips to Gairloch as I have always found items of clothing, local crafts and gifts here and it has always been such a lovely place to browse around. The family who have run it for many years have always provided such a friendly welcome. Thank you so much to them. One can only hope that someone will purchase the business who does such a great job in providing a needed facility for visitors.
