Bordered by pristine beaches and a network of marsh creeks, the barrier island of Isle of Palms has been a vacation spot since the late 19th century when it was only accessible by ferry. In 1929, a bridge was built, which opened up the island to more than just local residents. Today, it’s the island’s great fishing, beaches and golf that provide a few of the magnets for visitors. With a laid-back, easy going, resort lifestyle, the most popular fashion statement is flip-flops and a t-shirt. Isle of Palms is a great place to gear down from a hectic lifestyle. The magnificent stretch of beach on Isle of Palms is both photogenic and fun. Once you’ve done your obligatory sunbathing and beachcombing at the Isle of Palms County Park Beach, head to nearby Charleston, a 30-minute drive away, which has historic sites, landmarks, shopping districts, golf courses and family attractions like The South Carolina Aquarium and Fountain Walk, a new dining, entertainment and shopping complex nearby. For golfers, the Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms features two 18-hole courses designed by Tom Fazio and there are several more excellent layouts on the mainland, including Patriots Point and Charleston National Country Club.

Hello, My name is Capt Ben Floyd and Charleston Fishfinder is the name of my company. I provide light tackle and fly fishing charters for beginner and expert fishermen alike. I have been in business since 2004 and I love what I do for a living. Fishing is a way of life where I am from and through some sort of natural progression I have turned it into my livelihood. I am from a small fishing community in South Carolina called McClellanville. At the age of 13 I discovered that I could get paid to take people fishing for fun and for sport. After college at Lander University I moved back home and shortly thereafter I started my business, Charleston Fishfinder. I love my profession and I strive to make every trip as safe, fun, and memorable as possible.

Come experience Charleston from the water. At Lowcountry Drifter Charters, we specialize in light tackle and fly fishing. If a fun day on the water catching fish & exploring the local marshes sounds like what you're looking for, give us a call.
With a private charter, you may choose to target certain species or let the captain put you on what fish are going to be the most productive for the time of year, day, and tide. You may decide to target redfish and trout or you may want to target 100 lb plus sharks.
