Kambiri has been a popular holiday destination among most lake loving visitors for quite a long time in the past. Since coming under the management of Serendib Group of Hotels, it has undergone a massive renovation and expansion process and is now rebranded as Kambiri Beach by Serendib Hotels and Resorts. The Resort is situated in the lake coast of Salima at times nicknamed as the rocky coast.

The Warm Heart Adventure Lodge is owned by a Malawian woman called Kay, she is one of three locally owned lodges in Cape Maclear. The lodge is based in a fishing village called Chembe village. The village is alongside the Lake Malawi National park and is a World Heritage Site. Cape Maclear's charm is the beautiful way the fishing village has welcomed tourism and how village and tourism work hand in hand and how they plan to develop and grow together. The Warm Heart Adventure lodge is managed by Kay and her lovely manager Flora. It is a beautifully simple lodge with a warm and friendly team waiting to take care you. It has 5 beach front reed chalets, 1 en-suite self-catered beach front cottage and a 6 person dorm, with a little space in the garden for the odd camper. The Warm Heart Adventure Lodge is also home to Warm Heart Adventures, which is Kay's small adventure tour company that specializes in tailor-made tours around Malawi. The tours are put together and lead by Kay.
Yes, Warm Heart Adventures Lodge is definitely in the middle of the Warm Heart of Cape Maclear! You’re in the midst of Chembe Village with its lively vibe or chill vibe (depending on the time of day or night!). When we arrived, the sun setting behind Thumbi Island looked otherworldly like it was Planet Mars glowing on the horizon! The staff warmly welcomed us and we stayed in the spacious and comfortable self-catering en-suite room. We walked down to Mgoza Lodge for delicious food. As we walked back along the beach, the full moon lit our path back to our chalet. Absolutely beautiful. The bed was super comfy with great mozzie nets. Thankful also for the complimentary purified water and the nice breakfast and coffee/tea on the lake-facing veranda in the morning. Peaceful and relaxing. And the water was so clear too! We stayed as a couple but this would be a great place to stay w/ friends or family too! Definitely recommend, especially for this self-catering option in the heart of Cape Maclear!

This lodge was amazing. Hot water, bathtubs, free wifi and seriously, the best chicken I had the whole time I was in Malawi. Be prepared to wait for your food, but it is 100% worth the wait. The owners are South African and seem to have put South African power outlets in the rooms so be prepared with a South African power adaptor as your normal adaptor may not work. I would recommend this lodge to anyone who wants to stay somewhere smaller, only 5 rooms, very quiet. The price was right too!

We chose Mwala because of the reviews that were google reviews. Our expectations were high, having stayed at other lodges and cottages on the lake shore which were up to standard. The images that have been uploaded by owner to market the place left out some of the key elements that allow a person to make an educated decision. Which is a complete ripoff. The kitchen is an utter disgust. (Images enclosed) for the price you are charging you could do better. 1: the kitchen (in images) for self catering is too far from the rooms and also risky to navigate at night to access. Frankly this is a terrible, horrible place. 2: Dirty beddings with old blood stains. 3: Kitchen horrendous I have not seen such subliminal standards. The quality of the kitchen so disgusting. Build cupboards, buy new cutlery and plates (you will even find cheaper presentable nice ones in shops in town) This place should shut down and be reworked. It is not fit for Mk40,000 per room per night. 4: Windows whose closers have fallen off and don’t close at all, very dangerous at night considering monkeys and other animals, plus vagrants are free in this area. 5: Entrance door to the unit with broken window and no key. 6: the showers do not work I left without showering because the taps are almost opening but the water drips right on the tap and The water drips all the way to the floor. Creating a pool of water on the floor. We had planned to stay 2 nights but left immediately on the following morning to find another accommodation. This is horrible. So horrible. The power/plug points are falling apart and need plastering. It’s such a risk to other humans. This could electrocute someone. The fan on one room the black fan makes an engine noise one cant sleep. And the most important thing the entrance to the lodge osapalira. We know this is Malawi but at the lowest standard one should consider other humans and their dignity and provide them with sensible accommodation Your target market at this cost is clientele that surely has good homes. They cannot leave their houses to come a holiday to this. Work on your property. Or close down. Be fair.
