We stayed 2 days in May 2022. It was a get away for my brother in law before his wedding day. There were 9 of us total. We rented 2 sites. We spent almost $1000 counting the 2 golf carts we rented. During check in, the staff seemed flustered but weren’t rude. They were disorganized and it took almost 30 minutes just to check in. We had a great time the first day. That evening we rode the golf carts around checking out the campground since it was our first time there. That’s when it went down hill. They have a curfew for bikes and golf carts, which I understand for safety reasons and noise issues for sleeping campers. The issue is the approach of the night staff telling people about the curfew. Instead of being polite, they snap at you and belittle you! Example almost word for word: “ Hey where are you going! Why are you driving the golf cart. Didn’t you read the rules??” How about some customer service and kindness for a first offense? The staff drives around golf carts after curfew policing the campground. I overheard our neighbors complain to other campers about the same issue we were having. The next day we decided to play horseshoes. We put a $20 deposit down on horseshoes which will be refunded to you after the return the the 4 horseshoes back to the camping store. You have 2 hours to play. During the first 30 minutes of playing horseshoes one of the horseshoes hit the metal picket/rod and breaks. I have never seen a horseshoe break. Keep in mind we were not playing the game incorrectly or rough housing. We were simply playing horse shoes. We immediately went back to the store to swap the horseshoe for another one. We were told by the staff that it was their only set and they had no more. They then said that the set was brand new and we were the first to use it. They also said they would be keeping the $20 because we broke the horseshoe. We politely asked to speak with the manager, Danielle, who was not in at that moment. We came back to speak with her 20 minutes later. When we walked into the store, her immediate response to us was “ We are keeping the 20 dollars.” Is that how you greet people?! No hello, welcome, or any other greeting?? She then got into an argument with one of the guys in our camping group who was not too happy about the situation and the way we were treated. In the end, we forfeit the $20. BY FAR, THE MOST RUDE CAMPGROUND STAFF I’VE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH IN THE 36 YEARS IVE BEEN CAMPING ( I usually camp at least 20 times a season, 26 times last year). WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE, WE WILL NEVER RECOMMEND IT, WHEN ASKED ABOUT IT, WE WILL TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT OUR AWFUL EXPERIENCE. YOU ARE JUST A DOLLAR FIGURE TO THIS PLACE. NOTHING MORE.. Such a shame.

Close to local attractions including the wild Pony herd(s). We enjoyed Assateague island (where the Pony's are) including the beach and maintained trails (we took our bikes). There are great local shops for dining, souvenirs, etc.). There is a museum also that is very interesting. The local community maintains the local culture. Tom's Cove has water front sites that are really great for a water view. We asked for a site swap during check in and they had a cancellation for a better site that we moved to (for a small fee).

Always had a good stay, caught good fish and had money to do other things. Staff as well as the Host were great. I am going again in the next few weeks. As it should be better fishing as the waters warm up more. Really good place to camp.

Our KOA Resort sits right on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay with amazing views and unbeatable sunsets. Guests can it the bay on a jet ski , rent a paddleboard or kayak, lounge on the private beach or make a splash in the campground's two pools. We've also got a full schedule of special events and theme weekends. Grab a bite at the Jackspot Bar & Grill, or order up specialty coffee drinks and ice cream at Happy Jack's Cafe. Our waterfront campground boasts a variety of accommodations suited for both campers and glampers including RV sites, cabins, RV rentals, extended stay sites and safari tents. We also offer awesome amenities like a dog park for your furry friends, bathhouses with laundry facilities to keep you clean and comfortable, onsite boat parking, a playground for the kiddos and a community fire pit for gatherings.
I'm putting this same review on multiple sites because I want the owners to see it. We stayed in our RV in the blue point area along the chain link fence. The fence area could use some "sprucing up" but it's the only area in the entire park with some shade. The sites could also use some maintenance as most of the green mesh ground covers are torn up and a trip hazard. That said, everything else was almost perfect. Beach is small and you need aqua shoes to wade into the water because of the broken shells. Good Cell on Verizon and adequate WiFi if the park is not too crowded. Pool, bath houses and laundry clean, air conditioned and modern. BUT, and I hope management is reading this, you can not reserve a spot and when we got there just after check in time we were put in a spot with an electrical panel and a big electrical box. The area was less than half full with more open spots than occupied but we were still given that spot. We have a 29 ft travel trailer and after 2 attempts to clear the box the staff member who escorted us realized we were not going to fit. He got us another spot further down the row and the trailer fit perfectly. So, and I'm hoping management reads this..... W*H*Y* since you can't reserve a spot do you put people is this spot (the only one in the entire row with this box) when you have soooooo many others! This type of spot should be the very last one used AFTER the entire area is full.

We were looking for a discount campground for one night while we were enjoying the coast. Bathrooms were clean and basic. Campsites were well maintained. Mosquitos everywhere. They say they spray but I beg to differ. The area is surrounded by fresh water therefore perfect mosquito loving area.

DO NOT, I MEAN DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This is 100% trailer trash, the owner is 80 years old & cheap! She dose not keep maintenance up in these trailers, we rented the trailer for a four night stay that became a two night stay from hell!! First night we had to go out and get fans because the AC didn’t work, we left to the beach the next morning and when we came back it was extremely HOT, we couldn’t even bare to stay inside!!! We called her & it took her about 15min to come by and check, she tried to accuse my husband for “freezing the unit” then later found out that it was out of fluid. We had to move to another trailer that was much smaller & she assured us that unit was working, it was a window unit that just kept the living room cool, our family of seven had to stay in the living room & we requested our money back for the next two days. Moral of the story is this place is trash & disgusting!! Also it stinks and ants where everywhere!!!

Even true Hillbillies would find this place a completely and utter shambles. What an embarrassing place for the other places on this very tranquil island. I think the DEP must be getting paid to stay away. Don't bother wasting your time at this place. Shameful.

Virginia Landing RV Camping is a rural, secluded RV campground in Virginia, tucked between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. During open season, the campground is greatly impacted by coastal weather with pleasant sea breezes. Virginia Landing is an excellent RV camping destination for those who desire peace and quiet. Guests to our RV campground in Virginia enjoy any and all water activities. At Virginia Landing RV Camping, we are known for the view that overlooks Hog Island Bay, the landing place of some of this country's earliest settlers. Chincoteague is a neighboring town that is home to the famous Misty of Chincoteague and the annual Pony Swim.
We enjoy this spot. It's one off our favorites. If you have kids they might not like it as it's very quiet, no pool or other amenities they would want. There is no beach here, but you can access the water, if you're willing to walk thru a bit of marsh. Lots of people like to clam there. I have Verizon & have a steady enough connection to stream the on line classes that I teach. The bathhouse is older but it was clean & everything worked. The grounds are well maintained. There are no sewer hook ups & some of the electric hook ups could use some work. You'll see lots of wild life, & stars. We always enjoy our stays.

Enjoy the natural beauty of Virginia's Eastern Shore and the family-friendly fun of Chincoteague Island at our waterfront campground. We have a place for every type of camper to call home. You can get back to basics on a primitive tent site, try it before you buy it in an RV Rental, add a little luxury to your RVing with a deluxe patio site, sleep like an adventurer in a safari tent or get the ultimate glamping experience in one of our deluxe cabins or Island Bungalows. There are tons of amenities to keep you busy during your stay on Chincoteague Island.
The cost seemed high for what we got, other than the wonderfully close location to Assateague as well as the relatively spacious site we had. The cable channels were among the worst we've experienced (we're full time RVers), Wi-fi weak. The guy behind us had a huge fire that was often unattended. We complained and were told, "people like their campfires, but we'll keep an eye on it." The unattended roaring fire continued. It meant we had to breathe smoke the whole time we were there. And being from the west, the continual flames were nerve-racking. I wish KOA (and other RV sites) had a policy banning political flags, especially huge ones. We don't need to fight that fight while we're staying someplace.
