Come soar through the lush green forests of the Blue Ridge Foothills and gain a new perspective for a truly unique and exciting experience in nature. The park is nestled into 120 acres in the beautiful Hickory Nut Gorge, just a stones throw from the eastern shoreline of Lake Lure. Located in North Carolina’s Isothermal Belt region, the pleasant weather conditions combined with the plethora of natural vegetation and sky-scraping tree lines almost mimic the feeling of sailing though a tropical rain forest. The adventure tour lasts about 1 1/2 hours and the lines are each designed with exhilarating features including Zip Zilla at 1000 feet long and designed to thrill.

The volunteers have done a wonderful job decorating this old bridge over the Broad River into a garden of flowers and shrubs. The collection of plants is extensive and they are clearly marked with their name. The bridge is suitable for people of all ages and even those with mobility issues. You can walk it in a few minutes if time is limited.

We hiked the Buffalo Creek Park 3.5 mile loop. The trail is shared by bikers and hikers and is well marked so that hikers head in one direction and bikers in the opposite which varies on different days of the week. The hike was moderately strenuous. Trail consisted of dirt, rocks, and tree roots. Great hike which we loved.
