This is a historic house and is different site altogether from Hemingford Grey House (a residential conference center).
Visited the house as part of a WI trip. Diana was very welcoming, even picking up 3 of our ladies who had mobility problems to take them to the house, as direct access by car or coach is not possible. She is a superb hostess, who told us of the history of this house, which is about 950 years old - older than the Magna Carta! An informative tour of the house and the chance to view some amazing quilts made by Lucy Boston, author of many children's books. The house has Norman, Tudor and Georgian features and we had the opportunity to sit and listen to the very 78 record that was played to RAF men during WW2 and in the same room. The gardens are beautiful and set right next to the beautiful Great Ouse. What a wonderful way to spend a few hours - highly recommended!

We are a family run boat yard situated on the prettiest stretch of the river Great Ouse in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. The boatyard has been hiring and repairing boats since 1946. We have a wide range of boats to hire by the day or by the hour, and at affordable rates and inclusive of fuel. These range from our little four seaters up to our 12 seater launch. No previous experience is necessary as full instruction is provided. We also have overnight boats available for holiday hire.

Housed in the former grammar school that Oliver Cromwell attended, this history museum features a collection of paintings and personal items related to the Lord Protector of the Commonwealth during the 17th century.
Free admission. Located in the heart of Huntingdon. A small but fascinating museum. The curator, who is often on site, has lots of fascinating anecdotes to add to the experience.

What a gem Houghton Mill is magical you can look round this working flour mill and the history is really great there is a shop to purchase goods and milled flour. Also the lovely tearoom sells fabulous homemade scones using the milled flour and they are delicious as are the homemade cakes and pastries. There is beautiful walks around the mill area which are displayed and easy to follow a great picnic area and car park

A farm shop with a tea room located in a beautiful Cambridgeshire hamlet with an outdoor play area for young children and a farm walk.
I go here at least once a month to stock up on sausages and meats from their fantastic meat counter. The quality is always high no matter what cut I buy. While I am there I always seem to leave with a few extras from the deli counter and shop. After shopping it is time for a coffee and something lovely in the cafe, my husband’s favourite is the sausage roll, and I love the cakes. We also go to the steakhouse for lunch and some special occasion dinners as my grandchildren love being able to run around in the play area after the meal. The reptile house and woodland walks with rabbits running free and deer in the field just make for a truly lovely place. You do need to book in advance for the steakhouse as it is very popular if you want to book for things like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day etc. Also the place is shut on a Monday even if it is a bank holiday.

Had a lovely walk and were planning on going to the pub for lunch. However we decided to check out the café and weren't disappointed (apart from them running out of the chilli and the beef stew ????) Excellent quality food, especially the ham and very generous portions. Nice that they also have toys and books available to keep the kids entertained. Good wooden highchairs too. All round good visit.

Grafham Water Park is situated in the beautiful Cambridgeshire countyside with excellant road links to the A1 and A14. Many activities are available including fishing, walking, bird watching, cycling, sailing, plus much more. The are two on site cafes, two childrens playgrounds and regular events running throughout the year.
Often use the circular walk or bike ride. Great to take the dog or kids. Lots of clean facilities, smashing views from many angles. Easy and cheap parking, nice variety of wildlife to see.

Out of all the problems that recent times have caused this place has really adapted to them very well. The refurb of the outside with the new bar, tables and undercover area is exactly what is needed in these times. Plenty of space, excellent service, good beer, great staff. I didn’t get a chance to try the food but I’ve heard it’s decent. If you’re looking for a good pub in St Ives look no further.
