A small but perfectly formed museum, created inside a WW2 anti-aircraft gunner training Dome in the middle of Langham Airfield in north Norfolk. We offer a wide variety of opportunities for learning and fun for all the family - informative displays and videos, online games, a dressing up cupboard, a training gun to have a go on, a picnic site and much more.
From the driving past the outside you would not realise how interesting this little dome would be! Stop though and read the information encapsulated on the tops of the picnic tables in the grounds and you get a taste of things to come! We found the exhibits and films thoroughly absorbing! A great insight into how the war affected the lives of the people this sleepy hamlet!

We had a fantastic morning here. The gardens are beautiful, alot more than we expected. There are some great ideas which we have come away with for our own garden and a few plants from the shop ???? The harvest mice are adorable and the bird feeders kept us well entertained while we had lunch in the cafe, which was lovely!! They are dog friendly and very welcoming 5⭐

Baconsthorpe Castle - really an old manor house with a moat is a wonderfully preserved ruin with the old moat. Out in the sticks (well it was originally for a sheep rearing family), its a little tricky to find outside the nearby village, along farmers tracks, but well worth the effort. Small free car park, and free to visit. Well maintained by English Heritage. No tourist trappings or rubbish here. Wonderful way to spend the morning watching swans on the moat!

Cley Marshes is the oldest Wildlife Trust nature reserve in the country having been purchased in 1926 to be held "in perpetuity as a bird breeding sanctuary". Today Cley Marshes is one of the country's most popular birdwatching sites, attracting over 110,000 visitors each year. The award winning centre was opened in 2007 and features interactive interpretation, regularly changing exhibitions and a well stocked gift and book shop. There is also a large cafe which serves tasty local produce and offers panoramic views over the marshes and coastline. 2015 Has seen the opening of the new Simon Aspinall Wildlife Education Centre, which provides a fascinating and informative mix of interactive interpretation, exhibitions, events, activities and education programme.
My husband is very interested in birds and I’m very happy on beaches, so after an hour on Cley beach, we headed to the Wildlife Trust Visitors Center for some information. It’s a modern building across the road from Cley Marshes where it has 3 large hides. We paid the £4.50 each and walked the well-maintained trail through the reeds to the hides. It’s a practical place, with benches and hinged shutters inside that allow viewing of the birds and wildlife with little disturbances to them. That being said, it’s also well-landscaped and pretty with great views. The Visitors Centre itself has a shop, art gallery, cafe, toilets and outdoor viewing deck. When we had parked in the NWT car park at the beach, the man selling car park tickets was friendly, enthusiastic and informative. In contrast, at the Visitors Centre, which was quite crowded, there seemed to be only 1 woman behind the information desk busy selling things and some cafe staff. Maybe they don’t have enough volunteers or staff? I’m not an expert in these places, but I enjoyed visiting the hides and my husband was very happy, hence the high score of 5*.

This is a wonderful place. I love this coast and the marshes are something special . Easy to walk out on the coastal path the the real pebbly beach with its small fishing boats. Best to go on a day when its windy and a little wet to get a real good feel of the coast.
