We visited in winter, a lot of the statues and fountains were covered but it was still stunning. I imagine that in a few months the gardens and parklands would be wonderful. It is well worth a visit.

The material of the collection is presented in the ground floor rooms of the small building, where the composer has spent the last part of his life. Altough acquainted with his art and playing his pieces myself, the surprisingly detailed personal side of his life story astonished me. It is a must for piano enthusiasts when in Bayreuth. For young (and old) visitors, a so-called Piano Hero is available to test their skills just like in Guitar Hero. Simply cool.

This theater is just AMAZING. I have never seen anything like it, it is incredibly beautiful and moving. The guide gave a great explanation about who built it, why etc etc. I have visited 241 Unesco World heritage Sites at the time of writing and I think this is the one which blew me away the most. (apart from the Houses from Horta - Art Nouveau in Belgium).. Simply outstanding and a must see for seasoned travelers.

It's a nice place to walk around the lake, see some animals, sit down at the restaurant and have some food and drinks. It's free of charge, for both the park and the parking

The Eremitage is a amazing collection of little parks with beautiful flowers, stunning views of little castles, old stonebuildings, fontains and little lakes. It's a beautiful place for a nice walk and the restaurant serves good local food! On a nice, sunny day, I highly recommend! =)

This is a great and informative place full of Wagner memorabilia and the history of the time he lived. Split in two parts, one in his home Haus Wahnfried and one adjacent in the newly built museum. You also get to see historic stage sets and costumes from a variety of operas. Overall a very good exhibition. There is a nice coffee shop with an outside terrace.
