Nomadic tribal heritage and modern society co-exist in the UAE, a federation of seven emirates at the southeastern edge of the Arabian Peninsula. Look beyond the desert that consumes four-fifths of its area and you'll find UAE capital Abu Dhabi, an oil-rich city of skyscrapers, parks and malls, and Dubai, with its split personality of luxury resorts and covered marketplaces, upscale boutiques and local artisans. For a break from urban sprawl, journey over rolling red sand dunes into the Hatta Mountains, where the 200-year-old Sharia Mosque sits amid 30 restored buildings of sandalwood and mud.

Drive along Dubai Creek, the lifeline and pulse of the city, which separates the city from Deira to the north and Bur Dubai to the south.
Dubai creek has all of it - a fantastic view over Dubai, you can go for a romantic Dhow dinner cruise or walk along the creekside, take an Abra and cross the Creek to the other side and then stroll around the "old" souk or on the other visit the spice souk and gold souk, enjoy passing by the dhows and experience the vibrating life while getting an impression of the past and and and.... It''s always great to experience this Oasis" of "old" and "new" Dubai

Columbus Yachts and Boats Rentals was founded in dubai 2013 Cruise from Marina to Dubai Water Canal & enjoy amazing sightseeing along the Canal Route, Sheikh Zayed Bridge and more! 4 hours yacht cruise for 1 until100 people by Luxury Yachts
Possibly only one to enjoy via boat during the hot summer months, in the cooler months of the year, a stroll along Dubai Water Canal is a great way to get some exercise and get some stunning views of the city. The canal starts by Jumeirah Beach and works it’s way up through jumeirah and business bay. It is crossed by a number of varied architecturally interesting bridges and at the Sheikh Zayed Road crossing there is a stunning waterfall on either side of the road which is illuminated purple at night and parts to allow boats to pass. A throughly pleasant escape from the city, whilst remaining close to downtown.

If you are looking for a family day or friends bbq, it is the perfect place. You got to have a perfect lake view where you can enjoy a cup of karak tea freshly made on stop. I would advice to pack the picnic matters to enjoy a full day. Bbq will be amazing too. Before start camping or resting, it would be amazing to go for a lake horse ridding a one hr trip with a friendly guide form “ Al Jiad Stable”. After with ur car you can just follow the signs for one of the most beautiful sightseeing spots in dxb.

Loved the couple of hours we spent here. There is a proper path around the lakes to walk on. Koi carp to look at. Lots of photo opportunities. You can walk in the water between the lakes at certain points. Definitely worth the drive to take in its tranquillity.

sometimes gems are truly hidden, and sometimes they are hidden in plain sight, and such is the Al Rafisah Dam - an alluring and stunning off the beaten path travel destination, tucked afar from mydubai’s urban spread and out of sight of even the most seasoned explorers and adventure seekers, so much of an oasis itself on the east coast of Khorfakkan clinging to the sides of the straddling western hajjar mountains bordering Oman, en route an unexpected stop-worthy detour on our road trip traversing the great outdoors of our own home turf, coiling untold miles on the winding new Sharjah – Khorfakkan highway through an out worldly landscape of the ever enchanting deep orange sand dunes leading to a scenic high altitude trail paved between sheer walls of arid grey rocky mountains, that instantly evoked to the conscious mind, the living embodiment of the award-winning author Angela N. Blount’s famous quote; “Sometimes the most scenic roads in life are the detours you didn't mean to take.” and truth be told, this is no exaggeration to say, I did little to no research before going, and I remember to only googling the route thinking it looked decent for a weekend escape from the hustle of the routine to free-diving on an endless road of zig-zag curves in and out over five tunnels laid through the mountains, busting our favorite songs on the play list, with our little one in tow, spending uninterrupted hours of endless conversations and laughter galore, focusing on us and enjoying face time to an all-day long quality time well spent together, and our delights knew no bounds when the scenery unexpectedly changed as we drove on the other side through the fifth tunnel and what we saw was not what we expected one bit - the largeness and strangeness of the dam was suddenly apparent, that at first glimpse is capable to take your breath away and surefire beckons you to pull over and get out from behind the wheel.. and if you fancy taking things to a next level of peace and tranquility and add a bit more of luxe to your life, mix this back-to-nature experience with a cool and laid-back morning of kayaking, which are available to rent, offering you with a one-of-a-kind opportunity to gaze at the awe-inspiring grandeur of the reservoir whilst paddling through the labyrinth of its passages, where you might be lucky to have a close encounter with the resident mountain deer’s, and plenty of ducks.. and that there’s no denying, the harmonious sound of the flowing water that adds a soft blue contrast to the serene emerald green landscape that surrounds the jaw-dropping panoramic vistas of the rugged mountains looming over the pure azure reservoir creates such an enchanting atmosphere of tranquil solitude, that anyone, no matter of what thoughts and beliefs, can come to find peace.. which is hard to believe that yet does not feature very prominently on most travel itineraries, that I don’t know why, and the world has yet to exploit its magnificent views, but shhh, let’s keep it our little "secret" getaway place! #worldscoolestwinter #UAE
