Tucked in a lovely valley between the Rhine River and the Taunus Mountains, Hesse's capital of Wiesbaden has long been an important spa city, dating back to Roman times when it was called Aquae Mattiacorum. In the 19th century, Wiesbaden also became a popular gambling center. For a soothing plunge, try the famous Kaiser Friedrich's Therme in the city center. And don't miss the Schlossplatz (Palace Square) and impressive Kurhaus Wiesbaden event and conference center, both within a few blocks.

We stayed for 2 nights prior to a Rhine River Cruise, and were pleased with our small accommodation! We were 3, and the room, though very tiny, was very adequate. It was clean, quiet, and very adequate. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast (extra cost) was very nice! Our room was actually 2 rooms (no doors) and offered a little privacy between the double bed and the single bed. We did find out that most of the eating places around the hotel only take cash, so be sure you have Euros if you want to eat! The Schloss and its adjoining park was very beautiful, and worth the walk around it! Wifi was faster than I expected!!

Lanhaus Diedert is a very charming accomodation in a traditional country style. There is loads of parking available. The rooms are nice, spacious and clean. The staff is very friendly. The bathroom unfortunately only had a bath tub without any shower cutain etc, which made showering a bit of a challenge. The breakfast buffet had a limited choice but was still good (taking the price into account). Overall very recommendable if you want to stay county style in a relaxed atmoshere.

It is a small hotel, 12 rooms only. To me, this hotel is a typical bed and breakfast place, but with a good touch of style. It is privately owned and maintained. The reception is not attended constantly morning to night, so it often takes quite a while to wait for the receptionist to come to spot. A contact phone (mobile) number is there on the door to give a call to the receptionist and there are a few nice benches in the frontyard to have a seat and wait till he comes up. The rooms (suites) are "roomy", with good and always clean bathrooms. A light European breakfast is served to guests in the mornings from the Hotel lobby. It begins rather late, 8:00 am, which should be considered if you plan to travel a lot over the day. I would say that this hotel is a good fit to honeymooners or close friends who like to better explore particular locations rather than cover long distances making stopovers. And this particular location has something to offer. The nearby area is known as Die Mainmuendung, or the mouth of River Main. It represents a park belt good for recreation including wining and dining: there are a few nice restaurants / cafes.

This is a long term stay hotel which partially felt like a retirement home since it was inhabited by elder people. The bed was too short for my height and pretty small in width. Pictures are better than the real deal. Other than that, it was decent price reasonable breakfast for 10 euros, clean and nice staff.

I spent 5 nights at this family owned hotel while travelling with friends. Our double room was at the back in the main house. The building is unassuming from the outside, but provided a clean, quiet, comfortable stay in a convenient location. There is a bus stop less than a block away. The staff were very helpful and pleasant to speak to. The breakfast room was bright and large and offered a typical B&B breakfast. Free wi-fi is provided but was very slow, so most of the time I didn't bother with it. I would definitely stay here again - excellent value!

Landhotel Schneider has a restaurant just downhill from the hotel, and it was here that I found myself one December evening for dinner. The place was packed, and yet people made space for my one-more. The food was classic fare, and the pork medallions were done perfectly. The Rheingau wines on the menu were great, but what set the place apart were the people. It was the beginning of Christmas season, and the diners all sang carols along with the accordianist. It felt like a family reunion, and I was reluctant to leave. When next I come to this part of Germany, I will make the Landhotel Schneider restaurant a must-do.
