We are a small family run business who provide great value accommodation in Otaki. We are situated just a one hour drive from central Wellington and the Interisland ferry terminal. Our goal is to provide great value accommodation to local and international tourists at the same time as creating employment in Otaki.Otaki is a great place to grab a coffee on the way through to Wellington, or to do some discount shopping at one of the many retail stores. We love housing people visiting the region for weddings and family events. Many of our guests are Kiwis from different parts of New Zealand, but we love to meet international people as well.
We thought somewhere quick to stay as on dusk and heading to ferry in morning. Right on main highway so very noisey but didn’t expect a noisey gas station behind us. Very tired motel certainly in need of tlc. Bed was “going down hill” one side. Shower window was rotting. Although it was clean on first look hadn’t been cleaned behind bed for some time and along carpet edges, needs a major refit.

We have 7x studio units 4x1 bedroom units and a 2 bedroom unit. The complex surrounds a peaceful courtyard garden area with fenced “green space” and mature trees, and is just a short stroll from supermarkets, the railway station, restaurants, and Coastlands shopping centre. Major attractions such as Paraparaumu Beach Golf Course, Coastlands Aquatic Centre, Nga Manu bird sanctuary and Southwards Car Museum are just a 4-minute drive away.
Excellent service, clean and well provisioned room. Just a one night stop for Mum and son due to sporting competitions in the area. No issues with noise. Easy parking. Simple check in check out - including after hours if we had needed it. Nice and close to shopping centre, eateries and a short drive to the beach

Booked here only to find they took payment for the room as soon as booking was made (without authorization) level 4 lockdown was then announced by the government so I could no longer travel due to this. Room was canceled but no refund has been made to me Communication from them has been poor, I have made multiple calls and sent emails but no actuak answer as of yet. They are quick to take your money but don't seem to want to refund even though its a government order not to travel. Avoid this place.

Have been here a few times in the past and has been great. Seen this place is now under new management and the quality has definitely deteriorated. Chicken was tough and stringy and the fish burger was just average. Our mains came out while we were still eating our shared entree. Won’t be going back.

The owner, Mike Slee, went out of his way to help our party (two adult couples traveling together) feel welcome. I wish my family was this hospitable. He made sure our rooms were nearby and we had very ample spaces (rooms) to socialize outside of the bedrooms. Upon arrival, Mike served us a snack while we enjoyed the pastoral landscapes outside and offered to drive us and pick us up from an area pub so we wouldn't have to worry about the effects of having a "pint". Mike took time out to take us on the beach to see the wildlife and fauna on his four-wheeler twice, en route to dinner and then on our way home from dinner so that my husband could photograph the sunset. The B & B is exceptionally well designed and decorated. We had several engaging conversations with Mike and he told us about and showed us a film about one of his favorite places in the South Pacific. Mike served us the best breakfast we had in New Zealand; he is a gourmet cook. His kitchen is a marvel. Prior to our departure for Kapiti Island, he arranged for us to have a nature tour at a private park and bird sanctuary; our behind-the scenes tour was fantastic. We met an impetuous parrot named Jimmy. My husband and I have only one regret, that we stayed just a single night at the property. I recommend that people stay at least two nights here, and this can be readily combined with an overnight at the Kapiti Nature Lodge.

We really enjoyed staying at 'Top Floor' B&B. The room has the kitchenette, bed area, and little sitting area next to the large windows. The host couple are very kind and thoughtful. The room was warm and extremely comfortable: super nice bed, hot shower, lovely view, super-clean, everything you need is in the room. I especially like that the continental breakfast was in the room. Sharon had everything we needed right there: fresh fruit, bread and toaster with fantastic little jams, tea, coffee maker, water kettle, odds and ends in the mini-fridge, little chocolates...... it's all good! You walk just one block to a great beach walking trail. The beach-town is quiet and friendly, with lots of little shops, cafe's, restaurants. (I'm going to greatly miss this little bakery down the street. Freakin' outstanding!)
