The Isle of Wight is the perfect place to enjoy some peace, quiet and natural beauty. Except perhaps in the summer, when the Isle of Wight Festival draws visitors from all over the world. In 1970, the Festival was the largest rock-music event ever held. It was called Britain's Woodstock and featured Jimi Hendrix and The Who. (Not so much peace or quiet that week.) The island is also known for its world-famous sailing and lovely resorts, where people have been vacationing since Victorian times.

Chessell Pottery is now under new management, recently taken over by Mark & Anna (May 2018) who have undertaken an exciting new refurbishment to the buildings, we wish them all the best with their new venture. The business will operate as Chessell Pottery Cafe.
My family and I have been coming to Chessel Pottery for years. The children enjoyed painting the pottery and I enjoyed the delicious tea and cakes. When it changed hands a year or two ago I was worried that it might lose some of it's charm but I needn't have worried. Although the emphasis now leans more towards the cafe rather than the pottery it is a wonderful place. It's now a family run business and when we visited a couple of weeks ago the two gents running the cafe were doing a great job.The choice of cakes is great and the cream tea delicious. The scones were some of the nicest we've had on the Isle of Wight and believe me we've had lots. I'd thoroughly recommend this place and wish the owners the very best of luck. They've saved Chessel Pottery from being closed down which would've been a great loss to the island. 5 stars!

Boasting the largest collection of island creatives and artists under one roof, producing unique & bespoke items that can't be found anywhere else on the Island. Come and meet the individuals and creative minds behind each product. Creatives also offer several workshops and classes include jewellery workshops, teddy bear making, painting classes, and encaustic wax art lessons. As part of Holliers Park, we're also home to the ever popular House of Chilli and the very unique Bus Stop Café, where you can have your lunch on board a double decker bus!
We came across this little gem whilst looking for the house of chilli. What a friendly place. All the stall holders very happy to help us and each other. The stalls included clothes, pictures, glass gifts, pottery , chocolates, biscuits, pens, wooden gifts.... to name but a few. Well worth a visit.
