Pittsburgh has been remade and reimagined. Think 24 miles of riverfront trails, beautiful parks and historic attractions. Home to 90 neighborhoods, the ‘Burgh feels authentic and unpretentious. No visit is complete without a trip to the Strip District or PNC Park, a ride up the Duquesne Incline or a stop at The Andy Warhol Museum. Architecture buffs love Pittsburgh for the amazing downtown buildings. Hollywood producers, do, too—the city has even been called the “Hollywood of the East."

Home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, this horseshoe-shaped stadium opened in 2001, and offers spectacular views of the city and riverfront.

Going to Riverfront Park was a consolation prize for not being able to find fort Pitt. There is street and adjacent pay parking lots. The walk is lovely and I believe you can scout out a ramp access to the waterfront. You might want to check it out first. There is a really lovely Korean war Memorial in the park. A conflict that has not received enough honorifics. I wasn’t quite sure if it was a Korean war or Korean conflict or what, so being a nerd I went and looked it up. I’ll put it at the end of this review. It’s wonderful to be able to walk adjacent to the river. I could see Fort Pitt in the distance. There were at least four or five bridges visible in a city full of bridges. It was really nice and quiet, with most people just taking a walk. It seems very safe. I think it would be an enjoyable visit and that it would be a way to slow down and not be entertained so much as to enjoy the environment. Pictures attached. *On June 25, 1950, North Korea launched a full-scale invasion of the South after receiving the go-ahead from Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin. Until that point, the United States appeared disinclined to intervene. The year before it had removed its last remaining troops from Korea, and that January U.S. Secretary of State Dean Acheson had given a speech in which he excluded Korea from America’s defense perimeter. Nonetheless, the United States got involved in the Korean War almost immediately. On June 27, as North Korean troops reached the outskirts of Seoul, the South Korean capital, U.S. President Harry S. Truman ordered naval and air forces into action. Then, three days later, he approved the use of ground troops. Though the Constitution gives Congress the power to declare war, it did not do so in this case. “If a burglar breaks into your house, you can shoot him without going down to the police station and getting permission,” Senator Tom Connally told Truman when asked if Congressional approval was necessary. As a result, Congress has not formally declared war since World War II. Probably more than you wanted to know. But I enjoy history in like knowing the facts. I thought you might too.

Nice place to drop by for a picture and to visit an iconic piece of history in Pittsburgh sports. The location of the only walk off home run to win a world series in a game 7.

Even though Pitt might be struggling more, this is still a great arena for basketball. It is designed well for easy in/out and the seats even from the top of the arena provide a great view. The scoreboards make it easy to stay up to date on stats as well. Great to take in Pitt basketball.

Have been to Stage AE to see an outdoor concert for Alice Cooper and have seen Ted Nugent & Alice Cooper indoors. Get there early if you want close to the stage. I won tickets to all the concerts! Parking is very close.
