Worthy of its reputation as one of South America’s best zoos, GramadoZoo is an animal reserve with a difference. Specializing in species native to Brazil and with an emphasis on animal welfare, GramadoZoo makes a welcome change for animal lovers, with spacious open living areas and most of the animals brought in as rescues. More than 1,500 animals currently inhabit the zoo, including capuchin and howler monkeys, tapir, emus and crocodiles, and a 1.800m walkways links each section.
