Yes, you wait in a long line to get in the bus that takes you to Machu Picchu and then wait again in another line to get back from Machu Picchu. The ride is dusty and the road very steep but the drivers are great and the buses are air conditioned. This is not ideal but remember that you are in the middle of the mountain and one of the thousands of people that do the same thing.
