The largest of the twelve Dodecanese islands on the Aegean's eastern edge, Rhodes is also its most popular. The well-preserved medieval city of Rhodes sits at the north of the island of the same name. High rise hotels line the northern and eastern coastlines. Small villages and resorts dot the island's other shores. Whether your interests are beaches, bars or ancient sites, Rhodes offers an abundance of all three. Authentic Greece can be found in the hilly interior of the 50-mile long island.

Two weeks ago we came back from the holiday spending 10 wonderful days in Mitsis Grand hotel. The hotel and especially the en-suite are a little bit dated, the indoor swimming pool unfortunately closed and both outdoor pools very cold. Bearing in mind last 2 Covid 19 years, extremely difficult for the tourist industry, the hotel is trying to do the best to compensate all this by an exceptional cleanness, excellent customer service and great entertainment and food. NEFELI at the concierge desk was our angel sorting out ALL our problems and answering questions as soon as we had one. ELENA in the Greek restaurant was so quick serving us, she was almost flying! And all the time with a smile on her face. In fact it’s very difficult to mention everyone helping at the hotel as everybody was very kind and always ready to help. The food was very tasty especially in the Greek and Italian restaurants. The room was spacious with a nice size balcony overlooking the garden. As the sea side was very windy we’ve done the right choice booking the garden facing one. And finely: During our stay my husband celebrated his birthday. We didn’t mention this while checking in so it was a very pleasant surprise for him to receive that day an email and card with birthday wishes from the hotel and a birthday cake (very tasty!) with a bottle of Prosecco in our room! Overall our stay was extremely pleasant and we would strongly recommend this hotel.

I actually can’t believe how spoilt some people are reading these ridiculous negative reviews!!! 1) The staff are SO lovely and really go out of their way to give amazing service. 2) The food here has been amazing, I’m a veggie and there’s so much choice for me here. I actually find it easier to eat here than a restaurant so I can choose what I want. My partner loves meat and always has a full plate every night. The breakfast is delicious you can have hot cooked breakfast or pancakes or fruit and yoghurt. The restaurant by the pool you can get lunch and snacks all day, like gyros wraps and chips, toasties, salads, ice cream and take this to your sunbeds by the pool 3) People make me laugh when they complain about all inclusive drinks. Obviously they aren’t going to be amazing quality but you can have just spirit and mixer e.g vodka lemonade or vodka and juice and it’s actually really nice. The beer is decent. You can have wine or prosecco too. A couple of the cocktails on there were really nice too. The bar staff are so friendly and let you order more than 1 at a time which is handy. 4) Pools are good size and they do an aqua aerobics class in the mornings which is actually quite funny 5) we had a sea view room and the view was stunning! Loved waking up to it every morning and the sunsets are so pretty, definitely recommend upgrading to it 6) downstairs from reception they have a games room, think we paid 5 euros for a game of pool they also have arcade games, board games etc 7) didn’t go much on the hotel entertainment but that’s more for families anyway, and we liked to spend our evenings out for a drink (recommend Amalfi beach bar which is 5 mins walk away) 8) location is amazing - you literally have a beach right at your doorstep it’s a couple minutes walk away that has a lovely beach bar and a taxi can take you into Rhodes town for 8 euros 10 mins away

Therefore it is in the ideal position to combine a beach holiday with shopping and sightseeing. Combining the advantages of a modern city hotel with a friendly family atmosphere, the hotel Agla is the ideal choice, summer and winter, for holidaymakers and businessmen.
Stayed for 11 days at The Agla Hotel room 401, location was perfect, 15/20 min to old town, 2 minutes to the beach, nice restaurants and bars around, had an issue with the air con but we were moved to another room after a few days so all good, breakfast was so amazing and was supervised by excellent staff, front of house were very helpful and very friendly, there was a bar but we never used it and only used the pool once because so near the beach, but on the day we did use it it was really nice, lifts were small but we used the stairs a lot even though we were on the 4th floor,we had a superior room and had a beautiful view of the sea, room was really nice and was cleaned everyday by the cleaning staff which we loved and they were very thourogh a big shout out goes to them, all and all we will definitely be back as location and staff were top notch so thank you for making our stay so good

We don’t take pleasure in writing this but it has to be done , this hotel is not a five star it’s tired and grubby, the room furniture is old and stained , the reception and pool area has been kept nice but it’s the rooms that are not good , we had a villa and I would of been so disappointed if we had paid the prices they are asking now , the bathrooms are not good they are also in desperate need of updating , now the restaurant ( well the canteen ! ) it was like a cattle market no sooner had you finished they were taking your plate my partner hadn’t even finished eating ! And we won’t the only ones sick of it but the worst was they didn’t wipe tables after use we had to ask they refilled coffee from other people jugs that had been on their table there was absolutely no signs of covid protection at all , the knives and forks were grubby along with the glasses . Now what we found in the bathroom ... someone else remains of their soap ! There was stains on the sofa and dressing table stool , another persons long black hair on the wall that we left there just to see if it was cleaned and no there all week ! . The hotel is in the middle of nowhere so taxis has to be booked to go anywhere the hotel puts on entertainment about twice a week , the only good point is the staff in the top bar are just lovely . Some of the other staff however are just plain rude which is a shame as all the world is in crisis right now so need visitors . So if you are thinking of booking I’d have a good look round as I think the photos provided are quite old now ! We also had to stand 200 students that hired a DJ so it was like being in magaluf than the tranquil luxury hotel , they were a disgrace cups thrown round the pool , shouting in the restaurant and bars , I don’t know who took the booking but even our maid was fuming there was absolutely no consideration given to the other quests we just felt so sorry for 5he people in the next block to them which ever manager booked that party in shame on you ! ?

We did not get the room with 2 beds. They had 2 mattresses on top of a king box spring and claimed that it was 2 beds because there were two mattresses! No tub. Shower enclosure was directly on bathroom floor with a dingy sticky shower curtain. Gross. Ground floor room very noisy. Street noises. No ramp for luggage. They claimed their credit card machine was broken and we had to pay cash. Greece has a law that no hotel can refuse a credit card. They insisted that we can go across the street and use the ATM. I paid for the one night and cancelled the other two.
