The legendary birthplace of the goddess Aphrodite, Cyprus has been coveted and fought over by a succession of admirers: Mycenaeans, Egyptians, Assyrians and Persians, to name a few. The former British colony was most recently fought over by the Turks and the Greeks. A result of this turbulent past is an impressive range of cultural treasures, from Crusader castles to the tomb of Mohammed's aunt. The island's geography - plentiful coastline with a mountainous center - ensures plenty of year-round activity.

This little complex is situated in Goudi. We were in the bottom studio apartment of a 2 storey building. There was only 2 of us. Let’s break this down into chunks so it’s easier for me to explain....... Outside, approach and parking: When you leave the road you go up this steep incline, and I really mean steep to where the apartments are. The roads up there are very narrow and again steep. Cars cannot pass each other, someone will have to reverse, good luck with that. Parking is very very limited. We only hired a small Nissan car. There is a Taverna and supermarket close by car. Anything else you will have to travel a bit further. Your about 17km from Pafos and 7km from Polis. Courtyard: Through some large wooden double doors in to a sort of small courtyard. There are steps up to the other apartments. Where there is also a small swimming pool. There are a selection of wooden chairs, sun loungers and a table. All have seen better days but are functional. The cushions for the sun loungers are on top of the wardrobe in the apartment. These are plastic covered. Apartment: This was a one bed open plan room, with a separated shower and toilet room. The electricity works on a key you insert when you enter the apartment. There is a immersion heater, but your told to only have on for 2 hours a day. This is the water for showers, washing up etc. To be honest we left ours on a bit longer. Pretty basic for self catering. You get a electric cooker, microwave, fridge, toaster and a very limited amount of cooking pans, utensils, crockery, cutlery. With the cooking and limited bits you do have to juggle about a bit to get a full breakfast / meal cooked. The is more than enough wardrobe space but again looking a bit tired. The only thing we could get on the TV in English was the BBC world news. The apartment is very dark even on sunny days, we were there in Feb 2020. The lighting is very dim. There is a ironing board, iron and also a hairdryer. The bed is not comfortable, again mattress and bed, pardon the pun, are tired. We didn’t use the air conditioning unit. There is a open fire which you can use. Wood, firelighters and matches supplied if required. One tip build the fire at the back of the grate as there is a smoke alarm in the apartment and it keeps going off if you build the fire at the front. The toilet and shower are clean and functional. No toilet paper down the toilet, there is a bin for that. Housekeeping: Marleka is very good and is quick to respond to any problems. Overall: Ok, but not sure if I would stay again. Kids would get really bored unless they could use the pool. There are lots of cats in the area.

A very lovely and cozy place to stay for a short winter getaway. The place is traditionally refurbished and furnished and the hosts made us feel very welcomed. The only thing that we would have changed was the breakfast time... Whereas we paid for a breakfast included package, the breakfast time was very limited i.e ending at 8.30 am which is quite early when you are on vacation, so we didn't enjoy breakfast at the end.

I wish to say that a studio price is 52euro for 2 persons ,60euro for 1 bedroom house and 72 for 4 persons in a 2bedroom house. An extra person in all type houses is 8 euro extra.
We visited the property with some friends. Although the courtyard looked beautiful, the rooms were in a very poor condition and dirty :-( The fridge and bathroom especially. The mattress was very old and of poor quality. We called the owner asking for extra pillowcases so we could use the pillows in the wardrobe and were told we are only allowed 2 pillows each! I also asked for some extra toilet paper and was told again we’re allowed one roll per room and if it runs out we need to go and buy some ourselves! He raised his voice but when I insisted he brought us what we asked for. It’s such a beautiful place but it’s not looked after. Details such as matching bedsheet, pillowcases, towels don’t seem to be important to the owner. If you decide to visit Arsos I would suggest finding an alternative place to stay.
