This property is located on the A68, the main road to Scotland. Short commute to Newcastle, Durham, along with Hadrian's Wall, the Penines and the Dales for the walkers.
Food is very nice, had a Sunday lunch with the wife on a few occasions now and it’s always good quality, the building needs some TLC but don’t let this put you off, the 1970’s called, they want their decor back! Really it’s that bad but made up for with the food

The Queens Apartments is Weardale Properties' (a family run property development business) first completed project, set within the heart of the Weardale countryside in the serene village of Stanhope. The glorious four-story building dates back to the early 1800s and has been tastefully renovated from a Public House into three 5 star self catering apartments named after Queens of England. The property is very spacious and can be let as three individual apartments or, for that extra special occasion, the entire building can accommodate a group of 20 guests and still retain the option of separation if additional privacy is required. Queen Anne Suite is the ground floor apartment sleeping up to 6 guests. Queen Victoria suite is the first floor apartment also sleeping up to 6 guests. Queen Elizabeth Suite is the penthouse, sleeping up to 8 guests over two floors.
Great base to tour the area, luxury accommodation. Plenty of space and all facilities are of a high standard. It’s very well thought out, clean and well equipped for families. No parking straight outside but there is along the road.

Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast, relax and enjoy stunning views of Weardale. Locally sourced breakfast cooked in the aga to order. Free range eggs and homebaked bread.
We had a super two night stay at the Weardale Retreat. Carol communicated directions in advance and gave us a very warm welcome. On arrival we were greeted to a huge bouquet of flowers, Prosecco and plenty of nice touches such as fluffy robes and slippers. The double bed was very comfortable and there was a plentiful supply of logs for the wood burner. The breakfast baskets were delicious and filled us up nicely for the day ahead. We had a fantastic time switching off from our chaotic lifestyle; relaxing to admire views and recharge batteries. Everywhere was immaculately clean and guests have private use of a hot tub and fire pit to toast the marshmallows provided. Carol recommended a visit to Hamsterley Forest which didn’t disappoint, plus a delicious meal at the local Italian restaurant. The whole experience was amazing and it was such a nice peaceful get away! Honestly cannot recommend enough and encourage everyone to book in to experience this for themselves. Thanks Carol and John for your amazing hospitality, we are very grateful indeed.

Welcome to Red Lodge Bed and Breakfast, Stanhope. The B&B was shut down over last winter, the previous TripAdvisor page was shut down which deleted the 72 previous reviews, 68 Excellent and 4 Very Good over its previous 4 years of trading. Red Lodge is in the heart of the beautiful Weardale valley which is part of the North Pennines, an area of outstanding natural beauty, popular with cyclists taking part in the coast to coast. The Bed and breakfast is an historic stone built house which was originally part of Stanhope castle, opposite St Thomas’ medieval church and near to the market place with close access to the local amenities. Red Lodge is the perfect place to stay if you enjoy the great outdoors or love to relax in the countryside. Our aim is to offer quality, comfortable accommodation with great locally sourced food. We look forward to welcoming you soon.
Excellent stay at the Red Lodge on our C2C bike ride. Dawn was a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome. Excellent breakfast! Lovely rooms, good secure storage for bikes. Would definitely recommend.

This was THE perfect venue to stay for us and our wedding guests - a party of 17 and a dog. The Lodge is situated in a remote location by a reservoir so it is quiet, peaceful and offers walks for varying abilities. Every bedroom equipped with super comfy bed and pillows has a scenic view. The Lodge itself was warm, comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed - the snooker table was a bonus. There are open log fires to sit around on cold evenings. A big 'thank you' to Athol who braved the elements at the BBQ to prepare a feast enjoyed by all and to Nick and his team who were on hand to make our stay an enjoyable one. A fantastic week with friends and family making memories to cherish forever....

A quiet, family run hotel situated on the outskirts of the small town of Wolsingham, offering a variety of room types all with en-suite facilities at competitive prices. Ideally situated for the traveler looking to explore Weardale to the West or as a base for access to the larger urban centres to the East, i.e. Durham 16 miles, Bishop Auckland 12, Darlington 23, Newcastle 23, and Sunderland 30. The site also includes a medium size restaurant featuring a traditional menu with all dishes prepared fresh on-site by the resident chef, and a welcoming public bar area frequented by local residents, travelers, and hotel guests, offering a good selection of cask ales, draught beers/lagers/ciders, and spirits, with regular promotions and event nights.
Room very basic, need massive renovation, bed in room 5 very uncomfortable, lumpy and unsupportive, excellent breakfast freashly cooked. As there are not many places to stay in the village it would be better to look for a cottage.

Arrived and the landlord/manager came out and very kindly helped us with our bags. Room was clean and cosy and slept like a baby. The cooked breakfast was delicious with friendly faces all round. There's a nice friendly bar downstairs with plenty of selection on ales ect
