Reviewed By KeithandDeb hIf you want a real French 'pension' experience this clean and characterful little hotel is excellent value for money. The hotel also has its own restaurant serving good fixed price menus featuring local specialities. The proprietor is always welcoming and helpful

Friendly, excellent value and great food
Reviewed By Owen MWe stayed here for three nights as a party of 12 and enjoyed meeting the owners and staff as much as we enjoyed the stay. 15minute walk into thuir. Breakfast is pretty basic but the lunch and dinner they provide is great. Staff very friendly. Could be an excellent Base for future exploration of the area.

Reviewed By karenloOkay so my review disappeared so here we go again as I really think these matter. I only do really good or if I think there’s an issue. This hotel is the second. Great things: the actual building. It’s stunning. Amazing. The rooms (or our room) was tiny though and as we paid €140 and it’s off season and we were the only guests I’m puzzled as to why we got a tiny room with air con that didn’t work. 32 degrees and no air con? So we had a totally sleepless night and woke up to a fairly non descript breakfast for another 30 euro. It’s pre packaged cheap supermarket stuff. I think the staff are super nice and it’s a pretty building but it doesn’t reflect the rating it gets! Four and a half stars? What? This is 3 at best. Sorry!

La Fauvelle is a bed and breakfast hotel in the most southern part of France, near the Spanish border. The atmosphere in La Fauvelle is relaxed and low-key, yet exclusive and comfortable. Contemporary design blends with the buildings from the 1840’s. All rooms have air conditioning and wireless Internet access. Large park and open spaces surrounds the 15x5 metre salt water pool, large enough to make your morning swim a real workout.There is an onsite restaurant. In the summer, guests can enjoy the patio while in winter they can relax by the fireplace.

Reviewed By pcelwinTo be fair to La Fauvelle our stay was at the very end of the season; what had probably been a very busy and full season. The common areas and extensive grounds looked tired and in need of attention. Having said that the staff were attentive and pleasant, the room was clean and well presented with direct access to the gardens. We stayed 3 nights and had no complaints. Only 15 minutes into Perpignan and 30 minutes to the coast or deep into the Pyrenees. The large swimming pool would be great on a hot summer's day.

Reviewed By home-in-alaskaDomaine du Montcalm is a wonderful place in the south of France. Location is perfect for access to Pyrenees and the Mediterranean/Costa Brava. There are many possibilities for adventures from sedate to active. The town of Thuir nearby is quaint with restaurants, shops and a nice market. The Inn is nicely furnished and comfortable. It is clean, tidy with everything needed for a longer stay. The grounds are well maintained with private areas for guests and activities include swimming in a nice size pool and sauna, bocce, Ping-Pong, and pool. My stay there for a wedding and then just relaxing on the grounds and in the area was perfect. The hosts are considerate and generous.
