Came for lunch outside in the beautiful garden and had the most fabulous meal. The flatbreads were delicious and other menu options worked so well alongside these. I will say that service was not great at all. This isn't something that usually bothers me really, especially when the food is so good but I can imagine some would have been extremely frustrated with it. Just waiting staff who don't care and don't seem to remember they're there to help you. But the setting and the food really deserves 5 stars and more.

The White Hart, in Stockbridge, serves up fine fresh food and drink, cosy real fires for a warm welcome and 14 charming bedrooms for a blissful country escape. Available for private parties, drinks receptions and business meetings.
We visited the pub for lunch and were impressed with the varied menu that we had viewed online. The staff were pleasant and showed us to the table that we had pre booked and took our drinks order. There were glasses already on the table for water if required, but they were all dirty, not from being used before, but not having been cleaned properly. My father in law ordered the ham hock and chips, my husband ordered the ploughman's and i had the steak pie. When the ham and chips and pie arrived they looked and tasted great, but the ploughman's was disappointing. The ham and cheese were both pre-sliced and looked like they had come from a packet from a supermarket. Surely if you have ham hock on your regular menu it would make sense to use that ham in the ploughman's and cheese that has been freshly cut from a block would have been nice. The ice cream was lovely, if a bit expensive at £5 for two scoops.

What a fabulous pub. We went for a day trip to the village and asked about a Dog friendly pub. What a great welcome and the most fabulous garden. We stopped for food and drinks and would definitely recommend it. The staff were brilliant and when they say they have a great garden, they’ve not exaggerating, it’s fabulous

Second visit. Just becoming a little frayed round the edges, not as good as previous visit. One or two tatty bits in the room (cracked basin e.g.) Really quite expensive for a nights stay, and everything now OK rather than great. Meal was, again, ok, not particularly gastro. Good choice of veggie/vegan on menu, although not our requirement. Left feeling slightly underwhelmed and with quite a substantial bill.

It is always a good venue in delightful Stockbridge. Used to be a pub with food, but I would now say it is a restaurant. Good gardens outside with two outside eating areas. The food was very good. There were four of us and we all had different things and all were good. This is not always the case and can be erratic but on this occasion was all delicious.

I spent a blissfully comfortable 3 nights in one of the Apple Rooms last weekend. I’ve stayed in several of them during the last couple of years and can honestly say they are luxurious in every detail and quiet and self contained. I always seem to sleep so well there and always enjoy a walk down to the alpacas and sheep and then just sitting on a bench watching the crystal clear river drift by. It’s well worth taking polarised glasses so you can spot the trout and it’s always enjoyable watching the fishermen trying to catch them . This is a very magical place and highly recommended.
