Really good attention to all the right details with some refreshing eccentricity. Loved the unexplained half-a-grand-piano in the bar, the relaxed board games and beer in the evenings. Refreshingly different hotel experience - felt really hosted. Attention to getting the small things just right - breakfast healthy and delicious - excellent evening meals. My son said his hot chocolate was the best he'd ever had at the exact moment I thought my coffee was the best I'd had in town! Would recommend - 5min walk from the station and 10min walk to ski hire and 1st lift.

Sonnenalm is a cosy chalet in the national Austrian style with a home-like atmosphere. Guesthouse is situated at an altitude of about 800 meters at the illuminated ski slope just next to the ski-lift Sonnenlift of the Stuhleck mountain, which is known as the highest peak of the Eastern Alps and is the center of the largest ski area in the Eastern part of Austria.
Miniature overpriced rooms without wardrobes, without shelves.. you can't hang clothes anywhere after skiing. There is no screen in the miniature shower, so everything is always under water. No cleaning….We used towels to wipe the floor. Nobody takes out the garbage for the whole stay, doesn't change the towels... at breakfast we run out of coffee, milk, cups... The restaurant serves only pizza in the evening and in the morning we wait a long time for eggs. Nothing else is served. An overpriced stay, which I would like to warn against.:-(

The hotel is located closely to the ski slopes, just a few minutes walk by foot or a car. Unfortunately the hotel does not provide a parking lot, there are just a few spaces (like 6 maybe) so it's mostly a hit or miss if you manage to find a parking space. The receptionist and the services provided by her were great, we were offered dinner menu, where we could choose from 4 different meals containing soup, main dish and a dessert for nice price of 15€. If I recall correctly, there was even a vegetarian option, which is a nice touch. Since we are talking about food, breakfast are included in price and are served in form of a buffet, choices were ranging from cornflakes to sausages. It was not the best meal you have ever had, but it was still damn good. Rooms were nice and tidy and the bathroom was nearly as big as the sleeping room. There is a tv and a wi-fi with an okay speed. The mattress was a bit too soft for my liking and I was kind of buried inside the bed. The room felt a little cold even with heating set on max, but nothing a blanket wouldn't solve. I slept well in conclusion. There is not really much bad to say about the hotel, it was a nice place to stay for a night, the price is pretty nice compared to services, with which I was satisfied. I surely recommend this hotel and as a nice bonus, you get a 10% discount on a SKIPASS if you show you are accommodated in this hotel (not sure if it is just this hotel or all accommodations in the proximity).

Went there for a couple of days skiing. Despite friendly service, good location and large appartement, We had a terrible night: Room was far to warm, even with windows slightly open (what a shame in February), beds were too soft, and we heard freight trains during the whole night. Adding to this a dated style, 200eur without breakfast is too expensive!

We are a group of 6 adults and this house is warm and comfortable for all of us. The location is excellent, just a few m eters down to rent skiing equipment. 15/20min walk to supermarket/Bar. View is amazing. Host couldnt be nicer. Definetly reccomend it :)

I took a one night trip from Vienna on the Train. It was a piece of cake getting there. train to Murzzuschlag banhof (train station) the taxi to Eichtbauer was about 20 Euros. - The skiing at Stuhleck is very mellow and intermediate. Perfect for families and beginners, but boring after a day as an advanced/expert. The lodge at the top of the mountain is a work of art, with incredible catering. - The hotel at Eichtbauer is true ski in ski out. The hotel rooms are small and basic, but very clean and cozy. I'd say global standard 2-3 star. There is a new sauna in the basement which I did not have a chance to try. There is a ticket office and ski rental shop about 200 yards down from Eichtbauer. You can walk down on the piste in 10 min in your ski boots as I did or take the road in shoes. - The restaurant at Eichtbauer is great. Wonderful, friendly service, and a HEARTY traditional Austrian menu and verdant salad bar plus a a rustic lodge feel. It was the perfect apres experience. If your looking for old school Austrian mountain vibes close to Vienna this checks the box.

We arrived on Thursday evening and left on Saturday morning, so we stayed for two nights. Owner welcomed us warmly, he explained us all info we needed to know. There is no WiFi in Hutte even though they present it everywhere. WiFi was available only in their main house. Ski room is include boots driers. Our room was fine, we parked next to door. Parking could be challenging when is snowing if you don´t have AWD car. Bed is not long for people over 180 cm, we had to remove leg bar to sleep more comfortable. Double mattress was too soft and too jumpy. Water was hot enough in the shower. There is no hair drier. They present draft beer but they only have in bottle. Breakfast was good, all items were fresh. We so a few cobwebs in the corners in bathroom. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Dinner you could have just 3 minutes walk from here and grocery is 3 km from here. Generally its worth it to stay here. We will come here again for sure.
