About a 25-mile drive southeast of Siena in the rolling hills of Tuscany’s Crete Senesi region, San Giovanni d'Asso is home to just a few hundred people. The highlight is the 12th-century castle, which now houses town offices. Directly opposite the castle is Villa San Giovanni, complete with a hanging garden, which is rentable by the week. Reviewed By goldieptLovely place and lovely management. Room was large with a view overlooking the rolling Tuscan Hills. Didn't have breakfast there so can't speak for that. If you have problems with stairs, get a room on a lower floor. Loved the place. Would go back in a heartbeat.

This was our 2nd stay in Casa Maria with stunning views of the Tuscan hills, large wood burning fire place, & full size kitchen. The 600 year old property is beautifully restored for guests to enjoy its peaceful tranquility. It’s the perfect place for a romantic getaway. Close to a multitude of wineries & coop grocery store... you’ll have everything you need to simply relax & take in the breathtaking beauty. Thank you Federica for setting up our stay, celebration champagne, daily candles, & kitchen goods... you made us feel like we were home away from home. Mostly your consistent focus & connection to ensure we had everything we needed made us feel like family. From the moment of our arrival, tour of the home & property to your instant responsiveness, you made this 10 year anniversary one we will always cherish. You even took us in the rain to preview Sarageto! Sanka (property custodian) here for many years, w/wife & child. We remember you from our visit in 2017. Sanka, we are extremely thankful for not only the daily delivery of wood but for starting a warm fire everyday. It was incredible to come back to a warm wood burning perfectly romantic fire. The little things like covering the wood in transit so it didn’t get wet to sweeping the ash and preparing the fire for us to enjoy with each delivery. We are impressed with the level of pride you continue to take in this beautiful property. This trip we unfortunately had a flat tire & being in a foreign country where we don’t speak the language can cause a lot of anxiety. It was Sanka’s day off yet he still came to help us, put air in the tire & even guide us to the local mechanic & translated. When the local mechanic couldn’t help he referred us to a shop in the next town & even called them... this was an exceptional level of service. All in all it was a wonderfully romantic 10 year anniversary trip. Thank you for sharing it with us. ❤️ Photos taken in 2017 & 2020

Reviewed By cellagirlIf you want Beauty, Accesability, Tranquility,and Wine look no further. Our late September/October 2 week stay in the Orfeo apartment was our heaven on earth. The grounds and the panoramic view were breathtaking! You do need a car for this area of southern Tuscany if you choose to do day trips. In the summer you could easily stay here and enjoy the beautiful pool and get away from the world. But, if you need to connect to the world Wi-Fi is in the apartment. Laundry facility for fee on site and wine and olive oil to purchase. We truly loved our stay!

Reviewed By lizamackSpectacular location, easy to reach many of the local villages and towns. The villa was well kept, clean and had great facilities. Excellent for large groups wanting to get be close together but still have privacy. Pool was great, if a little cold !! Will definitely go back.

He suggested and booked restaurants for me and he gave me great tips about the local amenities.I highly suggest this place if you want to relax and break completely with your city routine.

Daniele bravissima "guida turistica e culinaria".Mila ottima cuoca!Colazioni eccezionali! torte, biscotti e marmellate fatte in casa! SUPER CONSIGLIATO!
