Familiar hostel located in the Montseny's Natural Park, between Barcelona and Girona, 23 km from the the beach and in front of the Tordera River. It is open on the weekends and festivals. It is an ideal place to rest and enjoy the Catalan gastronomy; it offers an elaborate cuisine, based on estational products of a high quality. In addition, you can enjoy doing trips around Montseny's Natural Park.

Reviewed By durrae jWe received a text from management telling us the restaurant was closed but someone would be at the hotel to see us to our room. The chef did just that, then left. We were the only heartbeats on the property (for the first two nights)--kind of creepy, yet very quiet. The setting and inn are beautiful; however, it was difficult to enjoy the outdoor seating because of constant barking dogs across the way--mostly hysterical barking. Only one night, however, was it a problem, so we turned on the TV to drown them out. The walls are thin, and even though a sign says no dogs allowed, two of the rooms had them; rooms filled up over the weekend, and we were joined by a full house. The inn is near a charming small town, and we went several times to eat--our restaurant didn't open until 9 pm. All in all, it was memorable, and did I mention, very pretty.

Hostal Montserrat is located on top of the village and in the heart of the Montseny Natural Park. The town gives its name to the hill known as the Valley is ideal for spending a weekend or a pleasant holiday at any time of the year. You will find a complete rest, no traffic and breathing in the green nature. Not surprisingly, the view from there is breathtaking scenery.

Reviewed By Lisa HAlthough the rooms look a little dated they are clean and comfortable and the beds were great (and I'm hard to please). The staff were lovely, with a real family feel, and the location is at the top of a valley with a lovely terrace where you can enjoy the dying light with a beer or breakfast in the morning (and what a huge breakfast too: fruit, toast, jams, cheese, meat, coffee, orange juice!). You can even wander down into the quaint little town below. If it peaceful, friendly and beautiful sounds like your kind of place, then I would definitely recommend it!

Reviewed By Henry CWe were the only clients in the lovely refurbished Catalan country house. We ordered canalones which were nice but they better be nice at 12€ for 3 canalones. The escargot were small, bland and watery. The grilled rabbit was bland. The Catalan sausage/butifarra had a blond hair underneath it and the side of white beans were acidic and off. We should have realized that being the only clients in a restaurant is usually a telltale sign of the quality of the food. A disappointing meal for a hefty price of 60€ for two with only soft drinks and a coffee. Definitely skip this place and drive 10 minutes up to San Bernard for a fantastic meal.

Reviewed By shagadelicchefThis time i wanted to I be the hustle and bustle of Barcelona a miss , so I opted for something closer to to work in sant Celoni I found this place on line Do not rely on google maps to get you there !!!! Big minus for google After I found it I was greeted by the owner . Who was extremely friendly and helpful (he is the kind of person who would give you the shirt if his back ) I was the only one there this evening as the season has not started ( something to take note as all restaurant in the area are closed ) How ever the owner offered to cook dinner for me If i wanted which was a nice touch . Room /suite was clean spacious with all the amenities as described on the web site Comfortable bed quite and peaceful How ever there is a camping ground next door , so I can imagine during high season ,the tranquility of the area would be some what hindered All in all a great place for peace and quiet or even a romantic weekend get away .
