"I Due Mondi" is a holiday farm located in upper Umbria near the wonderful medieval town of Montone, conveniently located a few kilometers from Gubbio, Perugia, Assisi and Lake Trasimeno. Set in an immense agricultural countryside surrounded by green hills, it stretches over a colourful area that changes with every season.

Reviewed By SMB0000So, once again, we’re all different and by that I mean different when it comes to what we’re looking for with stay. We knew that this place wasn’t a five star accommodation wise. We didn’t expect a luxury hotel room with all that you’d get at W in Bangkok... What we expected was a simple room but with the five star experience for our family and in particular our three year old son who loves animals and tractors. We also expected a nice treat and welcoming by the family (that so many of the other reviewers have been writing about). And that we got. Francesco, Lucia and Rosanna (the big family boss ;)) all were super friendly and nice to us letting our son ride the tractor a couple of times as well as feeding the animals. He absolutely loooved it! So when reading reviews about towels not being changed and rooms not being cleaned I think that those visitors had it all wrong. It’s simple rooms compared to a proper hotel = if you want a hotel, go to a hotel. Period. That’s the reason why I gave this place five out of five - the family experience. Mikael with family Ps. The newly renovated contemporary hotel Fortebraccio is situated just outside of the medieval wall that surrounds the enchanting Village of Montone in Perugia district, a village rich of history and tradition. During the village’s medieval festivals, one can really feel immersed in the ageless and timeless atmosphere that is characteristic of Montone. The view from the hotel is an enchanting and spectacular display of the Umbrian country side. The hotel is just a few kilometers from the main highway E45 which allows you to get to Assisi, Perugia, Arezzo, and the Trasimeno Lake. We are also close to two of the biggest High Tiber cities, Citta` di Castello and San. Sepolcro, where you can have the pleasure of viewing the works of art created by masters Burri and Piero della Francesca .

Rooms are very clean and cozy, all facilities are very well maintained and the restaurant offers great food at very good prices. Above all: Christina (the boss) is doing an incredible job managing this place. She’s super nice and attentive to all needs and requests. Always with a smile, always happy to help.

Restored to provide the traveller with an intimate peaceful respite, La Locanda del Capitano offers its clientele ten charming bedrooms, each with private bath and all modern comforts. The bedrooms have been personally furnished by the owners with antique family furniture as well as fine reproduction pieces made by local craftsmen. After one day of discovering Umbria, the green heart of Italy, a sense of wellbeing in the pristine and unspoiled medieval lounge.As days get longer and nicer, breakfast and dinner are served on the verandas, each with unique views of the old village.

Wonderful stay in the country
Reviewed By David-MilaWe (four of us -- two couples) loved our stay at La Pietra Rara. The hosts -- Laura and Alfredo -- are wonderful people, and made our visit most enjoyable. This is a real farm with chickens, geese, dogs, birds and a cat. The B&B is perfectly located, a few kilometers outside Umbertide, making it easy to explore both Tuscany and Umbria. You are near many interesting small towns like Montone, Cortona and Gubbio, plus larger cities like Perugia, Arezzo, Siena and Florence. Wonderful value! We'd love to return.

Umbria’s best kept secret
Reviewed By sarahconnor1ukWe stayed at L’ariete for 12 days this summer and all we can say is wow. We loved every minute of our stay. Andreas and Martina are the perfect hosts, making lots of effort with our children and answering any questions we had helpfully. We made some fab friends and spent many a night enjoying Martinas home made meals and drinking local wine,beers and cocktails in the most beautiful courtyard. The swimming pool was fab for lazy afternoons sunbathing and just relaxing in the grounds. Montone is a idyllic little village with many restaurants to enjoy as well as sitting down with a drink in Cafe Aries in the square people watching and letting the children run free in a safe environment. Overall we couldn’t of asked for a better location and accommodation for our Umbria escape. Thank you Andreas and Martina xx
