Stayed for a night en route from Miyako to Morioka. Not very convenient unless you have a car, and there are practically no restaurants or convenience stores nearby. There is a small shop at the lobby of the hotel that opens till night and sells snacks and instant noodles and drinks. We had breakfast at the hotel, which was free with our stay, and a normal western-japanese buffet. Not that huge of a variety, but was quite tasty with the necessary yogurt, bread, and japanese items like porridge, fish, egg. Room was big, and apparently all rooms have an ocean view. We woke up at 530am just to catch the sunrise, and it was definitely worth it. Service wise was very good, expected of Japanese standards, and particularly Tohoku level!

It was the first time I had stayed at a Japanese government run park hotel. The booking sites on trip advisor don't allow you to book the western rooms so emailed their central Kamura site. They were very helpful and took the booking for a western room with buffet breakfast and dinner. No deposit was taken. Little English is spoken at the hotel which is fine. A warm welcome by the reception staff after they got over the language barrier and found the booking. The restaurant staff were very good. Excellent breakfast and dinner. We stayed four nights. It was November, the room itself got very chilly at night with a device that was rated at 75 watts. Gave up on it... Think it was a storages heater it gave out 75 watts and no more !. The lounge, reception and dinning room were kept very warm part since the guests wore traditional robes as is the norm at Onsons and would have got frozen otherwise between the bear legs. Saki fueled and full one snuggled down under the very warm quilts at night. Good beds. Free WiFi is provided which covers the ground level from reception. There are some paths from the hotel for morning / evening strolls to the cliff edge. For safety sake being November a number of çliff paths were off. You really need a car to get about. Leaf fall was very good which is why one visited this area. I would gladly stay in another park hotel run by Qkamura.

Our family of 3 adults and 1 kid, two miniature dachshund completely enjoyed this hotel. The seafood at the dinner was the best ever we have experienced all through our life when we live along the sea or oversea including US or Europe. Glass Bottle full of sea urchin is what you can enjoy at the sea, I believe, and my husband and my mom love UNi, sea urchin said that size and quality there will be unbeatable. Later on the same day I witnessed a smaller bottle of sea urchin in Morioka Station sold at ¥3980. It was my mom’s birthday ? and they offered us all drinks to celebrate it at the dinner:). the room is cozy and comfortable, clean, well maintained after reconstruction, the damage of 2011 earthquake and tsunami. There’s a corner on the first floor to memorize the disaster and tragedy plus how they have worked to rebuild the area and community. I’m not a local but this is my place of origin. We share the same value and belief to treasure the life, people and connection in Iwate.

The hotel is at the back of main street. There has a convenience and Drug store nearby. Not restaurant around that area. The Staff was polite as usual. The room was good size. The public bath was good and hot, very comfortable. The WiFi doesn't work on 6/F and the staff didn't do anything. The room and price doesn't match, it was quite pricy. If I can find somewhere else I won't stay again.
